looks like the weather isnt going to cooperate either, suppose to rain all day tomorrow and sunday. I was going to pull the rear frame out and straighten the qt so i can get it ready to install the new qts but with the weather all crappy, I'm not going to roll it outside to put it on the frame machine :(

More updates!

Today I resprayed the door I epoxy primed last night, going to block it tomorrow. As for the drivers door, I stripped it of the old paint and started from scratch.

Finally got both doors done both are home now, hindges are done too, now to prime the bolts so I can at least hang the doors so they are out of the way

I pulled the dash harness again, going to redo some stuff again, since last time I didnt use any shrink tubing just tape, going to respray the gauge console and stuff and perfect it, since I'm more picky now.

Man!! What a GREAT thread!! I started in on my car today, only had a few hours to start in on the piddle things to pull the motor/trans out.

Threads like this is whats giving me the motivation to tackle the car, again.

Job well done Jack!

Forgot to take pictures but I repulled the dash/gauges to redo a spot, and touch it up, do A lil more wirng work. Also completely cutted the car, all interior is in boxes and now ready to do those Quarters, but need to order wheel wells first. I noticed nobody makes trunk extensions. Has anyone tried using a 67+abody one, it states on year one that they will not work, can I Make them work(I can modify them so I guess i could) I just want it to look somewhat orginal not like I just put a flat piece of metal back there to make it work, I want it to at least have the drain holes and look correct.

I'll get pics ASAP

Do you have rusty wheel wells or are you minitubbing it? Not sure if std a body trunk extensions will work since you have a small trunk.

Auto Body Specialties has a trunk extension that will work beautifully. It will need a small amount of trimming. I replaced a pair on my 67 Barracuda convertible.

Thanks for the tip, I see its the same Part number as a later dart/duster So as it states and you did you, minor trimming that'll work for me! Now to order these too. Oh and Im not going to mini tube, It had crossed my mind, but after seeing that I'd have to modify the interior pannels and on top of that I have to relize what the car will really be for, Just cruising around, I mean sure I want it to have a warmed over motor but the older Im getting and the longer ive had the car I just come to be more 'realistic' on the hole thing, But still wanna go 4 speed and pistol grip!

Well time to get back to working on the projects:

Pulled the front end off so I can sandblast the Jams then prime them and get the doors hung to fit the quarters when I install them. Didnt get as far as I would like but ran out of time the other night, Got the decklid all stripped and fixed the dents it had in it and it is now ready to be block sanded.

Im currently working on this and my 1986 600 convert too, and I though one project was enough haha!!!

Glad to see you're back at it.
Haven't touched mine in a few years.

Well back at it again! Removed the dash and column this weekend, Found out my doner column is bent where it meets the steering box. I was unable to find much info on how to tear a column apart, but found another one locally for 150 bucks so I think I'm going that route.

I also am going to look into getting new rivets for the vin tag so I can take the tag off and sandbast and paint the dash Blue again, we'll see how that goes. When the guy gets back to me about a column, anyone know what years interchange btw? anyways when he gets back to me Im also going to see if he has a 4 speed swap setup along with at least a 8 1/4 rear but would like a 8 3/4 rear end for it too.

Glad to see you back at it! Chk the new "how to" section to see if there is steer column rebuild stuff. It cant be that hard. I would rather rebuild than spend $150 on another used one. You can leave the vin tag on it, just tape it off. Just be sure to turn the psi down on the blaster. Just my opinion.
Looking fwd to updates.

Made some progress today, Sandblasted all of my dash parts. Then filled all the unnecessary holes from gauges and CB radios over the years and primed all of the parts.

All parts will be painted B5 blue. I wet sanded all of the parts today. I would like to wait until I get my new column to paint the dash and do it all at once but I might just spray it tomorrow anyways. I also am in search of components for the heater box, I cannot find a Blower motor resistor at any parts store in town, I'll do a little more digging online now and see what I come up with.

Bought some Paint!!! Should be painting the dash and items this week, I wanted to do them on Friday but ended up painting some rear end parts for my dads Challenger.

Dads Parts:

Stuff Lays beautifully!!!

Painted the glove box door and started working on the heater box assembly, does anyone know what goes over the heater core tubes where it comes out of the heater box assembly?? I might have to just tear out the other assembly in my parts car to check it out.
