I was out of the country, but my boy took his 68 small block street
Valiant out to practice for next week at LVMS Saturday.

He won Pro (Although he was Foot Braking) and got to Semis in Sportman.

He is hoping to improve on his Stock/Superstock runner up in the finals
of $10,000 to win race last year. Fortunately they did a Split on the pay off
and he came home with a good stack of money!

Hoping to see a bunch of my friends out there. We will be pitted right at the
back of staging lanes.

congrats! we need pics from that 68 Valiant!

Hey John any chance we can get some pics if the Valiant?

Congratulations. Post a pic on here so I can find y’all next week. See you Thursday Friday

Pics of both are in Post a couple weeks ago by
TT5.9 (sic) from Vegas race a few weeks ago.
Red Valiant was Hot rod cover car/ White Mopar Muscle
cover car years back.

Thanks!
Between him and I we have won about a dozen LVMS track championships and
Jon was the youngest to ever win a NHRA National race at 15 years 7 months old.

Very cool, John. Congrats. Thanks for sharing!

Always tough foot braking against buttons. Ask me how I know, lol
Great job mowing down the fields.

You guys ever race against Gilley out there?
Used to be a big W2 guy

Larry Gilley is one of my good buds!

He did the chassis of Jon's 71 Demon stocker and
several other things on our race cars,

We have had some great races with him over the years as
he has races a Dart 340 stocker that won stock eliminator at US Nationals (INDY) several
years ago. We were there to help him a little bit.

I believe he has moved to the Southern states or is in the process of
doing so and we will miss him a lot!

The 68 Valiant was picked by Hot Rod Magazine as one
of the 50 most influential of first 50 years of the magazine.

It was invited to be displayed at the Peterson Museum at
that time. It was one of the first Valiants be in magazines as
a hot rod before they were popular. It is nearly unchanged for
40 or 50 years except for freshening up the running gear.

I will try to bring a supply of adult beverages to share in the evenings.

Hopefully I will not end up running around screaming and naked again =
I hate it when that happens!

Look for a Elder Man with Red Irving Family Racing "Nevada Missile Motorsport"
T Shirt looking lost and wandering aimless around track!
