First of all, what did the kit come with? Bottle, nitrous/fuel solenoids? Does it have a plate? What size motor do you have?

Once i know what you have then i can help you.

also, what kind of fuel pump are you going to run, electric or mech?

Like Sub said..whats it going on? For 125 hp plates, a Tee'd off line with it's own regulator is sufucient. For more than 150, I run a dedicated system to avoid fuel pressure changes that make them hard to tune. A larger jet will use a lot more fuel than a carb does, so that should tell you something about the support system for them...lol. I'd run a -10 from the tank to filter and pump(suction side) and -8 from the pump to regulator. Then whatever the system came with from the regulator to plate. You should also be running the fuel pressure safety cutoff switch in the line, just in front of the fuel solenoid. Set the pressure regulator with the plate off the engine, over a bucket or can, and the same jet(s) you are using at the time. Trigger the solenoid, and take a reading just in front of the solenoid. Adjust the regulator from there.

going on a 318 build up that im doing,it came with everything from the bottle down to the plate

If you are running a mechanical fuel pump, then i would up grage it to a higher flowing one. I went with a carter. All i did was T off of the fuel line before it went into the carb and used the same size fuel line. That line goes into the fuel solenoid. Then i mounted the bottle in the trunk. You want to mount the bottle with the nosle facing down and to the fron of the car. Then just run the line under the back seat, under the carpet and through the fire wall to the nitrous solenoid.

These guys have you on the right track! If you're going to the track and plan to spray off the line, you will want to go to an auxiliary pump. The number one reason for engine failure when using nitrous is fuel starvation. If your current fuel system can't maintain 4 1/2 pounds of pressure in high gear at wide open throttle (WOT) for five full seconds, it's inadequate. Your pistons won't like the nitrous without the proper amount of extra fuel. And they won't hesitate to let you know it, either.

I ran a 150 hp NOS plate system on a #s matching 66 Chevelle SS 396/325 hp car and it was great. 2 very important things are fuel delivery and ignition. You do not want to go lean or have detonation. The more Nos you run the more critical those 2 points are. You want a good fuel pump and an after market spark box would not be a bad idea. I ran a micro switch on my carb to get the flow going.

Yeah, an upgrade to the ignition system is right on. I hesitate to suggest you route the nitrous lines through your car's interior. It's only an extra foot or so of braided line to keep your car legal and safe. Route the lines under the car, following the path the fuel lines take. Keep them both away from the exhaust and all is right with the world. In the event of a crash, the last thing you want inside the car with you is a potential nitrous leak.
