Just got an a833od from 1977 for a 65 barracuda

from a pre '66?

You can use pedals out of a 67-72 A-Body in the early A's they just hang down over the column differently but other than that they will bolt in and work if you are not after a stock appearance.

One of my Barracudas had a set in it. I pulled them out before I sold it and used them in my 68 Dart.

Night-Rider. you may have a slight issue with your Z bar, some OD bell housings are bigger than the 64-65 bell housing so you may need to trim a little off the Z bar to make it work depending on what OD bell housing you have.

Another issue with using a later bell housing in an early A is you may also have to use a couple spacers between your motor mounts to raise the engine 1/2" the Starter is not at the same height and can drag the top of the tie rods. This is not the case with everyone so you may be fine but I have had this problem with a few of the early A's I had.

So far, the day started rough. Lost the car keys. As the car is stored with my dad 200+ miles away I can't keep a good eye on things, won't get into who "lost" them. Had to bust trunk lock open for parts stored inside.

Pulled the trans, everything looks great, still waiting on my drive shaft, but no hurry.

On my trans there is a two inch hole in diamer at the base of the tail shaft, what's it for and where do I get a plug for it?

You will need to get a speedo cable for a 66 A-Body to connect your speedo to a later tranny.
