Yup, after looking at your photo I had that wrong... Your hoses are hooked up right but apparently you are getting manifold vacuum at the ported vacuum port... It may be that the throttle plates are open to far.... If you were closer I'd be wanting to have a look but that ain't happening..

Got it running, sounds good, idles good.....then when I take it for a drive and start accelerating quickly it want to spatter and pop before taking off. Let it idle then and when I put it back in gear it tries to stall. Any ideas??
 
Are you letting it warm up pretty good? these old cars are not like modern cars turn the key and go.
Did this car set for a long time? bad fuel/water in fuel?
It's after it has warmed up that it acts up. While it is cold it will scream the tires. It sat for about 3 months. I drained the fuel tank and put fresh gas in before I started it the first time. Also new fuel filter.
 
Just found out the carb was rebuilt about 1yr ago and it is leaking gas from the gasket on top, went to parts store and bought carb gasket kit. Should I pull carb and
