Hello everyone, my first post here as I just picked up a 1972 Duster 340.

This is my first classic.

I was going through all the paper work in the car, and it has a sheet with the build specs.

I was wondering if anyone could help me understand what they mean.

Engine:

0.030 sealed power forged flat top pistons (9.5to1) recond
340 rods/ARP bolts.
0.010/0.010 steel crank.
Torque plate honed/Assembly blanced.
Comp Cams XE268H cam 3.08 Casting 360 heads street ported (stock sized 1.88/1.60 valves)
Crane adjustable cast iron rocker arms.
Ceramic Headers

Trans:
727
Red Alto clutches
Kolene steels
Transgo TF-2 Kit
Bolt-in sprag
Turbo Action 2800 Street Convertor

If anyone is knowledgeable about the specifics this engine, and how far it is from stock/what kind of power I could be expecting. I would appreciate any information one could give, thanks.

that cam is a very popular street cam for small blocks. it's a little more rowdy than the stock 340 cam, but very streetable.

that should be a very nice set up and run quite well. agree with the above 350~400ish HP guess.

I agree with the above estimates for HP. Looks like a nice street build engine and beefed up transmission. Should be a fun ride. Post engine and car pics when you get a chance.

Oh and welcome to our (mostly) friendly mayhem. :)

Yeah, I run that in my 318. Good power.
The specs you have listed are a good though basic rebuild that most of us do. Engine bored .030 over stock bore.
Lots of 340's,mine was a 1970 factory 10/10 steel crank meaning the crank is .010 undersize from standard.
You may find a maltese cross on the block stating it has a factory undersize crank.
Looks like all good parts in the engine.
Same goes for transmission.Quality rebuild form the looks of it.
Enjoy !
