Kenny Wayne Shepherd's Duster

-
Sorry,that car is ugly......

Some one has the courage to say the emperor has no clothes?
It’s the wheels.
Sorry, but there is such a thing as actually detracting from something by being too garish.
“Skinnies” do just that, IMO.

Robin Trower or Randy Bachman I know.
(For our Canadian friends)
I don’t “know” who Kenny Wayne is. But I recognize name.

SEMA PR says it is "restored".

Boys, we have hit the big time. Hold on to your Dusters.
But unlike what I said in the tread below, I don’t think I will ever loose the desire to own an A body.
No matter how many goof balls may think they are cool because they own one.
(Not Kenny, but someone else)
It is just TOO good of a car.

Don't get me started on why in the world someone would get rid of a perfectly good Mopar suspension when they butcher the poor car.

Yikes, behind the grille has to be blacked out. Very noticable especially on the '70 models. Otherwise, NICE. KWS dated a friend's neice. (Melody)

'scuse me , don't know where that came from, and I'm 48 ! Anyway, at 48 - Kenny Waynes great (find the song "Blue on Black" - one of his best) I like his car - but it'd look better with Rcottick's wheels. I'm inspired to do my next car now - it WILL be a Duster and it WILL have two tone paint. Rcottick - what kinda seats ?

Im pretty sure that guy was at fall fling.... his was the first duster that we looked at :)

He was there. Was that car done by Team Racing?? The ones with the booth at the Flings??

So was Chris with Overhaulin. Chris had his GTX there I think.

oh now everyone is on the Two tone Duster wagon.... lol ... gues I better hurry and have mine painted.... just weeks away. except...... i am going a 3 tone more or less. I'll show ya all cooooool in a few weeks.

I met Kenny Wayne at one of the Power Tour's stops last year - he's a Mopar guy for sure, goes to quite a few shows. I know his music ,he's remained one of the top blues artists over the last ten years, Grammys and all. He was signing posters of his Extreme Lee Charger - very few people recognized him, kinda odd to me, had he plugged that guitar in and started to sing and play - they woulda known he was somebody special - do a You Tube search. Anyway, nice guy and a real car guy. And I do like the Duster, but may not have gone with those wheels.

I have spent the last couple hours scouring the internet for more pictures of Kenny's Duster and found nothing. I think it would be a great idea to contact him and have him join and post on A-bodies. But how do we contact him?

Hey Rcottick,
Your cars sweet. I really like the air, rollbar, custom door panels and interior!
That only thing I see wrong with it is, there's no pic of you behind the wheel grinning your a$$ off while doing big fat burnie and donut!:thumblef:

Kenny's car is nice, I think it needs a hood scoop and different wheels,
maybe there not in his budget this year. He'll have to hit some swapmeets
or maybe someone will get him one for christmas.

I'd nominate John's cuda for SEMA when it's done and he plays geetar to.

Kenny's spent his time in the woodshed with his axe, paid his dues, and is
an outstanding artist, but I wonder what he'd do if you took his pen away
from him and gave him a basic tool set, a budget, a rusty Dodge, wife, kids,
house payment.
Talk about a blues experience.:drinkers:

I'm a little jealous, too. Love to be able to play guitar like Kenny - tour like Kenny - make a good living like Kenny - and buy Mopars like Kenny. I wouldn't be so quick to judge, don't know anything about his background before he made the big time. If he were lurking on this site already (maybe with an alias? Could be a regular, for all we know :-#) he'd take offense to that.

hey rebeldart,
I guess my attempt at humor didn't fly for you .
no jealousy or disrespect intended- just pokin fun at Kenny and Chip so
I could use the[ blues experience ] line so many are familiar with.
I'm pretty sure they both can stand up to the withering heat my blistering
attack produced, if not I will allow them both to come to my home and
prove themselves by fixing my car and playing me a song.
I will apologize and buy beer and steaks,we'll become friends, and they
can stay here for free any time their in town.
Maybe i'll be inspired to write a new song titled A-body blues or
Busted knuckle jam and Kenny will record it and I'll be rich to!
See it could all work out and everyone lives be enriched by this fiasco.
Everyone gets a happy ending. THE END
No guitar heros, car gods or old drunk bikers were injured in this story.
Any resembalance to real life is an accident.
Sorry I couldn't resist running with it.

And I would like to see someone who personaly pours their heart, sweat and skills into a project get to a show like Sema.

A-body blues, I like it:

My baby done left me for for an E-body man -
thinkin' his Hemi meant more cash at hand
She soon found out after it was too late,
the high dollar ride was to "compensate"!
He couldn't please her, he kept comin' up "short",
I think she'll be back, 'da ball's in her court.
and when she comes crawlin, I've got a surprise,
the stroker I built will bring tears to her eyes.
I got the blues .... the A body blues, yeah.

A little wango tango on the gee-tar and I'm a rich man, and you know what ? I'd STILL be into A bodies! AND - I'd still do 90% of the work myself (between concert tours of course), I'd just be able to order parts quicker! I AM THE REAL DEAL !

"Lucky I'm the same after all I've been through, life's been good to me so far"

SEMA - Show of Exagerrated and Mangled Autos ?

I was just saying I don't know if he knows a Hemi from a Homey - I don't think he gets dirty though. I saw the Extreme Lee special on TV and I don't think that was him on the creeper (didn't see his face) or in the paint booth (could'nt see his face) handling the MIG (couldn't quite see his face), but I highly doubt it !! I think the most annoying show I've seen was Joe Rogans Cuda - he was clueless - simply had the money and wanted a 70 Cuda - it was apparent all the discussions about the build were over his head - he just kept laughing and shaking his head (and writing checks) It would be nice, but like Gordy says above - I'd still get dirty (at least Leno knows his ****)

By the way, I think we've got a hit on our hands!

:drinkers:340gordy,
that lyrics is drippin the blues, made me tear up!

i was thinking something along the lines of:

i found an a-body -- way out in the corn
i drug her to my house -- lord she was lookin forlorn
my nieghbors were laughing and pointin -- while i got out my hose
now their all whinin and cryin -- cause i snagged a hemidart from right
under neith their nose

well you get the idea, add a slide geetar, and a juice harp how bad could
it be?
aaah **** now i'm hearin a banjo
somebodies fixin to lose there house, dog and backhoe

i hate when that happen to me again :drinkers:

LMAO.
I'm impressed with the your poety.:notworth:
We need an "A Bodies Got Talent" show.:director:
We could get a snotty English guy to judge.

Hey, you left out the best part of Joe Walsh's song.
Now there is a picker.
(But life has been good to me)

My Maserati
Does one eighty-five
I lost my license
Now I don't drive

I have a limo
Ride in the back
I lock the doors
In case I'm attacked

might be able to talk 340fastback or onehellofadart, guitar jones to set these lyrics to music. theirs an awful lot of player on this site. proffessional at that.
i'd try but my rig and geetars are in the basement untouched for years.
