Cambria quartz, for us. Killer stuff....just won't take hot pots and pans. I redid our kitchen two years ago. The tops have what looks like crushed-glass/large flake in them.

Yeah, I'm making an appointment with them for next week to get some prices.

What ever you do don't use Allen Roth Solid surface from Lowes. It looks nice for a while but scratches easy unlike the Corian we had in our 5th wheel. We went with this because Wife doesn't like Granite.

We did the quartz countertops last summer. They are really nice & my wife loves them. I tried to talk her into granite, because it was substantially cheaper. However, quartz is the “cool” thing that they have on a lot of the remodeling shows.

Nothing wrong with Corion, just nobody seems to use it anymore.

We started at the big box stores, but wound up finding one of their suppliers who would do business with us directly. Saved a bunch of money.

No maintainence with quartz. No mold. bacteria, special cleaning or sealing. Not porous. Just can't put hot pots and pans on it.

That's is kind of an odd "work triangle".

did it take you a while to get used to where the fridge is now?
No. It was a main contributing factor in the revamp. Old location was a nightmare conflict with adjacent door. It was a PITA from the day we moved in. No way to install a pocket door as 2nd floor utility and duct work were in the walls.

Going from the wood cabinets to the white painted cabinets made a big difference also. Ask me how I know.

Yes sir, it's a night and day difference. I painted all the old oak crown molding around the room cabinet color. The new wall cabs were installed 3/8" too high to use the same width crown so I made a couple transition blocks to blend.
BTW, what I found on the reverse side of the new cab doors are raised panels.
