No, but I chipped some off as I was beating the snot out of it with a hammer, trying to get it good enough to close. Lol

I did something similar to my first car. Didn’t realize it until just now that it is probably why I am a bit fanatical about having a working e-brake.

It’s definitely a lesson I won’t forget.

We left this morning to head home. Had to stop at the neat old filling station to snap a few pics.

I had an uncle that had a filling station bout like that back in the late 40s, 50s till bout mid 60s. Dawson, Ga. Right after WW11 he rode his motorcycle from Dawson( SW Ga. ) to the Indy500. Or whatever it was called back then.

Made it home around 6:15 this evening! It’s good to be home!! Car performed absolutely flawlessly on the 1000 +/- mile round trip. As mentioned earlier, wind/road noise needs to be addressed/improved. We also drove through heavy rain for about 10 minutes and while I was alright, Marge’s arm was get dripped on, then once she got wrapped up in a blanket, she exclaimed “now it’s dripping on my toes!!”
So new windshield and gasket, along with new door seals is also needed sometime (I have all that already, just need to get it done some time.)
Also need to either install new side glass, or super clean what I have (has overspray on it) and get the windows tinted.

Sucks about the accident but kudos to you and marge for hammering that **** out and soldiering on. Trips like this make memories and if you just gave in and got in the Chrysler 200 you’d forget the trip in 2 days.

We actually had everything unloaded out of the Duster and into the 200, then we tried for the 3rd time to get the door adjusted enough to close and finally succeeded! So we loaded everything back in the Duster, said a prayer and hit the road.

I strongly agree with this!

I have done numerous trips to Louisville Colorado and back (500+ miles one way).
I've even taken the scenic backroads to there. It's just an experience not forgotten. The people I met at restaurants and gas stations that saw my car and just started talking.
The winding mountain passes were fun! Few years ago I had to slow down quite a bit. But with all the suspension goodies and modern tires (*gasp* I know 17 inch rim/tires), she hugs the corners superbly. But the OP looks like he has 17 inch rims as well.
@75slant6 Do you have any stuff done to your suspension? Just curious.

Yeah it’s got a full HDK front suspension, as well as MP oval track springs in the rear.

I have mentioned my most fun trip ever.
Back in the 90s I flew from Mo to Ca (Oakland) and bought a done 67 383 4 speed Cuda. This was a first for me. Buying a barely running project was my always deal. I drove the Cuda back and had the best time ever. I went across Ca to Reno and then across hiway 50 was it? all 2 lane across Nevada and Utah, the sign said open range and I never saw one cow! High desert. And few people too! Then I picked up interstate across Co and Ks to Mo!
Like said, it was so memorable. Yes stopping for gas I meet so many cool people. But I have had daily drivers and same deal getting gas, especially when they learned it had a slant!

I drove my 67 Sport Fury vert to Hot August Nights in 93. First road trip in the car with my wife. All through Oregon it rained. Every seal and weather gasket leaked in that car. My wife was not a happy camper. Turned nice Saturday and Sunday and I was able to get the interior pretty much dried out. When we got home I had my marching orders to get it fixed. Soft Seal was my best friend.
