Been shopping for a scan tool. Need one that does airbags. Cheap. Lots to choose from.
Be careful BP, a mechanic at my son's garage had a van in for air bag service , he had the vehicle running and was working on the side air bag switch , he removed the switch and the side air bag went off, scared the living **** out of him . The airbag went off because it thought the vehicle had rolled when he took out the air bag switch and turned it. Not very bright!

Thanks FOG. I've worked on tons of them. It is kind of spooky. Gotta have the batteries disconnected and isolated for at least 10 minutes I wait longer if I can. Always had a scanner but I messed mine up and I aint gonna pay somebody for the same price I can buy a new scanner. Think I know what I want. $150 on Amazon but waiting for my local Mac dealer to call me back. Man he can be a dick sometimes. Gets all stressed out. His territory is big acreage wise and not so big population wise. Airbags are simple compared to power-train.

Pretty sure I know what needs replacing just need to convince the car that it has been replaced. LOL. Chevy truck hit not super hard in the front always triggers the sensor bolted to the core support but doesn't trigger the the rear safeing sensor. They both gotta trigger for a deployment. The front one is cheap.

Lol if you say so BP , it's all foreign to me !

I always unplug the battery when working on an air bag system I'm not to bright but not gonna get punched by an air bag trying to fix it.

Ya and before you can punch it back its deflated. LOL
Lol for sure and all yours BP I'm done doing the air bag and the seat belts that explode and suck you into the seat. Just toss me out the window and get it over with. lol

Wish I had been wearing a belt instead of being just fucked up enough to be in pain all of the time.

Lost me on that one.?
I was in a car wreck. Busted me up a little. Belt would have helped i do believe. And then I was in another one. Not as bad as the first but still tried to shove my head through the windshiled. Neither was my fault other than I didn't put on my seat belt. I don't think the first rig even had seatbelts. The second one I was just realizing that I should put on my belt right before we went off the cliff. It still hurts.

Sorry to hear that mostly going over a cliff in a car I would think would leave some long term pain.

Ours is the big tablet size with wireless pod so I can work under hood or of my box .but sounds like you aren’t getting all that involved

Exactly Biff I'm not into diagnosing power trains at all. For as much as I know about that. just a code reader would work but I need something to turn off the light.

Going off didn't hurt at all. It's the landing that sucked. lol. The other one sucked more. Who knows how many times we rolled. Came to a grinding halt on our roof on the side of the highway. Barley had enough room to squeeze out the back window opening. It's amazing we weren't hurt worse. Me and the driver were both sleeping when it happened. No booze believe it or not. The cliff one did involve alcohol.
