We have a park around here that is just over run with birds. Its a problem. People are rounding them up and adopting them. Not so sure that's the answer.
They are protected here , but other birds that aren’t could be considered food if in season

We have trumpeter swans this time of year there huge , (not sure if that’s how you spell it ?)
we have them here as well and just about every type of bird that *****.
Pelicans, seagulls, cranes. Even got buzzards. I live in bird paradise in the summer and even in the winter the little sparrows or what ever they are get under the hood of my car to stay warm after I park it and **** all over my engine.
I dodge Ducks all summer driving down the road and kill about every small bird at least 2 a day driving down the road.:steering:

LOOK OUT FRED!!!

That pic is from Freezout lake in centeral montana. Hundreds of thousands birds stop there during their migration from California to northern Canada. Mostly snow geese. They stop to rest and feed then be on there merry way again. They say they can almost block out all of the light during take off sometimes. Some swans too. Tundra swans. We can hunt the Swans with a special permit.

Ya, that would do it. Learning to like crows and ravens too. Once in a while you can here a lone goose honking out on the river edge for weeks. Gotta wonder if it lost it's mate. I'm gonna see if I can make the crows my friend. Sometimes they give you gifts.

Smart birds Ravens but will still get in the chicken pen and grab a chick.

They are a rat. I think they'll eat anything. I know gophers are cannibals.
Didn't know that but never stopped to watch just shot Gophers trying to keep them out of my yard, same with a squirrel the little varmints get into things and destroy everything.

I've shot thousands of gophers. Dad bought a chevy venture van just to take us all gopher hunting in central MT.( cutbank area) Farmers loved us. He made a counter that sat on the dash. Great fun with different friends. Those gophers would go to town eating their siblings. Kind of gross. Shoot em right off their dead brother.

Stock can break their legs in the holes too. We would slip the Hutterites a bottle of whiskey now and then. It was funny to watch them secretly hand it off to one of the bosses.

Dropped a lot of loads driving semi to the colonies and funny to watch the young ones hide there cell phones and the old ones hide there whiskey.

I know when the weather warms up Geese start coming back.
I call them shitehawks. Where my mom and dad are buried there are geese all over the place. There is a huge pond on the property so they make it their summer home. Have to constantly watch where you step. Illegal to shoot them too.

Dam raccoons , I live trap them they are mean buggers ! I relocate them two water sheds away or they come back !
Yeah don't ever corner one. You'll lose. A guy I once new had one for a pet. He would leave the toilet seat up and it would go in the toilet whenever it needed to go. Very friendly pet and very smart too. Raised it from a pup so that helps.
