My buddy had one in high school. 383. Loved that car. We worked for the golf course one summer. We were building the back 9 holes so we would drive our cars right to the work site. I was watching him drive the Charger down the road followed by the golf coarse work truck loaded with sod. Evidently, the trucks brakes were overcome by speed and weight as I watched the truck fold the 1/4 panels on the charger. Ruined the car. I watched the whole thing. Ironic thing about it now that I think about it.... it was a dodge truck. lol

1984 1/2 Mustang convert, 20th Anniversay edition. I bought two of these new, off the showroom floor, one convert and one hatchback. This one I bought just before I sold my '70 Dart in 2011. It is one of 587 converts built with the 5.0 and a 5 speed manual. All 3 were 5.0 5 speed cars.

I remember working on those. Ford pop riveted angle iron on the rocker pinch weld to keep them from sagging.

How do you like that Maxjax?
I really like it, would be great to have a full lift hoist, but my garage ceiling is only 10 ft, city regs limited me to 14 ft 5 inches at the roof peak, and I wanted storage in the rafters, besides, I'm 6 ft 7 inches tall, so no hoist I ever worked under was high enough anyway. I find it's great for anything I need, have a rolling stool that use to get underneath, have done lots of work on it, no complaints in 6 plus years. It sure beats crawling around on the floor or under jackstands.

Yup, they were all made from coupes, the roof was cut off at Kar Kraft in Michigan, same people who did the Boss 429 installations. Cowl shake was a problem on all of the fox body ragtops.

I remember our production manager driving one through the shop. He is a big boy. He was hopping up and down in the drivers seat. You could see the door gaps drastically changing. lol

Had a buddy your size and put him in my 58 Bug eyed Sprite and he was never able to drive it just couldn't squeeze him in.

On the '46 Merc, he built a lot of real subtle custom touches into that truck. The tool boxes in the bed are the wheel wells, the wood floor opens up to access the fuel filler, battery, air compressor, etc. He drove it here and back from Winnipeg in 2018, about 800 miles one way. Seats are from a 2013 Dart, hood scoop is made from a steel mop bucket.
