You gonna tint the windows before you install them?Geez Fred, thanks for pissing on my parade...
No I don't like the look of the rear when tinted. The Glass I have still looks really nice for its age and has a lot of the factory green tint to it..You gonna tint the windows before you install them?
They sure made them thick back then. I know what you mean by the green. No I don't like the look of the rear when tinted. The Glass I have still looks really nice for its age and has a lot of the factory green tint to it..
I'm gonna clean it up an polish both and see how they turn out.

Thats the plan... I don't remember my 69 having green tint to the glass? but that was 20yrs ago ugh.. Miss that carMine is clear so tinting it but just me I like the dark tint in the back.
You should be on the road soon I would guess, mine is on the road but a long way from being done.
Car is in good shape from the pictures. and I see what your saying on the rear glass that's dark enough. The front glass is the dirtiest buts its mostly rubber sealer some one gouped on at one point and some also put a Plymouth sticker on it at one point and it just turns to dust when you touch it so that has to go..

Yea my kid can't wait till I get this damn car on the road. Cause I told him mine has to be finished before we start his... lol
I didn't know that I thought they were all clear but was long ago in my younger years.I think all 64-66 had factory tint rear windows. I have read that here also.
I think the green is inherent in the tempered glass production. The thicker the glass the more the accumulation of the impurities.I think all 64-66 had factory tint rear windows. I have read that here also.

Kid has class I like a good Bug been around them a lot as a kid.He hasn't got anything yet, but he has been bit by the bug. No pun intended~
He wants an older 64-67 bug no fender and a 2-4" front end stretch. I've done everything i can to sway him but he's sticking to his guns this is what he wants!
I told him okay but he has to build it motor and all... I also told him if we build a 1600cc or 1800cc I'll build a turbo setup for him...

Those are cool. I don't know much about them old VW's but I see how easy they are to work on. I hear the engines can be tricky to build. He hasn't got anything yet, but he has been bit by the bug. No pun intended~
