I love my truck and yes they do slobber a lot. I'm running 90 wt in the tranny and rear end but also have an over and under box that seems to hold the oil. Wish you could come down here I have a bad noise in 1st and 2nd that wines pretty loud so thinking I have a bad Bearing on the cluster or not the right oil. They all slobber not much for seals on any thing transmission, rear end, engine have cardboard under it all. They recommend 600w for trans. And diff. It’s vegetable oil used in meat packing machinery because it’s edible. Tried 90 w gear oil just leaks out so bought a 5 gal pail of shell Valvatta. Need to use DRIVEN hot rod oil in engine as it is the only one I can find with the heavy metals in it like zinc use that in dart also. They are fun though
My A howled in 2 nd I mean deafening. Took trany out rebearing it bought all bearings over counter in stock for $70 amazing. Trany still howled. So started reading the only thing I was missing were two 3 thou shims behind flywheel housing at the top ears. Put them in trany shut up not a peep didn’t think they had machining tolerances that close in 1931I love my truck and yes they do slobber a lot. It is a JavelinThat red and gold car is that a javelin. Used to be one around here haven’t seen it in a while. There is still an AMX 390 cruising around though it’s white blue stripes good looking car
I'll be that's interesting I had know idea, I bet that is my problem. I hope anyway. My A howled in 2 nd I mean deafening. Something to check into because they are easy to install as opposed to tearing the trany outI'll be that's interesting I had know idea, I bet that is my problem. I hope anyway.
So no pictures of you on the track blowing up engines?Well I guess I was not the only one busy. We just finished changing another derby car motor that I locked up yesterday.
I was flushing the cooling system to put water in and I noticed a knock/rattle when I held it about 1500 rpm after holding it there for a couple minutes she locked and stalled. When I checked it this morning it turned both ways only so far then locks up. I had another 350 on the stand so we swapped it. I will look into it when I find time but plan on keeping it because it is a 4 bolt main motor. So no pictures of you on the track blowing up engines?
Sounds like fun really and would like to be there watching.

August 3rd is the first race so we are ahead of the game. We are going to try and get 2 other cars ready for August 23rd which is old cars and Sept. 11 for newer bone stock cars.**** here I thought she overheated and locked up on the race.
Yea keep the engine for sure.
Glad they finally opened the track up.August 3rd is the first race so we are ahead of the game. We are going to try and get 2 other cars ready for August 23rd which is old cars and Sept. 11 for newer bone stock cars.
If we get the car ready for old cars it may upset some here because it is that 78 Dodge Magnum. It is a shame that those cars still have no resale value. It was born with buckets, console and tach with a 318 and I won the auction on Ebay for three hundred and fifty with the motor and trans. missing.Glad they finally opened the track up.
Way too much with out engine and trany you couldn’t get that for scrapIf we get the car ready for old cars it may upset some here because it is that 78 Dodge Magnum.
