Wow tuff weekend
Sounds like a great day and beats our 53F but was windy as well and the sun couldn't make it's mind up if it was staying out or not.Well guys 70* today and not complaining but that's pretty hot for this time of year.
I did yesterday and should have gone out today but worked today and just got home.Sounds like a great day and beats our 53F but was windy as well and the sun couldn't make it's mind up if it was staying out or not.
Did you get the Scamp out?
Had a good weekend really all winterized and should have waited to put the lawn mower away. Grass needs to be cut again. lolWow tuff weekend
Gravel roads are hard on everything but not much we can do about it but drive slow I guess.22 c sun just shining heaver breeze out of south but nice day. Rewired the trailer lights on the silhouette. The gravel roads I use tear hell out of them. This time I put them in a conduit so maybe. Sitting back enjoying a PBR contemplating what’s next. All yard work done ready for freeze up. So I got huntin on the brain. Bought my tags today son will be home Thursday for a couple weeks so back in the bush woo hoo
Garden hose sounds like a good idea and much better than running just the wire along the frame.Yup agree with ya there just cracked my second PBR tasting mighty fine today. Hope none of my friends drop over could get dangerous. Used garden hose for conduit on the trailer quite a few years ago seems to be holding up well it’s flexible enough to bend a clamp it around corners makes a nice job
Really like being in the bush, just sit down and be quiet in 20 min or so the whole bush becomes alive around you. I’ve seen pine marten, mink, weasel, have my trusty break action pellet pistol to pop a ruff grouse for lunch. Then that nice 5X5 walks out. All I see is venison steak slurp smack. Sure takes a huge bite out of the grocery bill. I know what you’re thinking all the gear, gas clothes, time all adds up. But I look at it as a free holiday and time with my boys.Garden hose sounds like a good idea and much better than running just the wire along the frame.
Duck and Goose is open right now and think Deer will be next month for us.
Not a hunter really got a couple deer in my younger years but not interested anymore.
Nothing better than spending time with my kids and enjoying the out doors for sure.Really like being in the bush, just sit down and be quiet in 20 min or so the whole bush becomes alive around you. That’s my rule exactly if I’m not going to eat it I refuse to kill it. Exactly why I don’t hunt bears, geese or ducks don’t like them won’t shoot them.Nothing better than spending time with my kids and enjoying the out doors for sure.
As far as eating venison I don't like it or Goose or Duck.
I don't mind killing an animal that is a pest in my yard but killing for fun I'm not gonna do that and haven't for a long time. That’s my rule exactly if I’m not going to eat it I refuse to kill it. Exactly why I don’t hunt bears, geese or ducks don’t like them won’t shoot them.
Built a live trap with the floor as a teeder todder 3/4” plywood box long enough for a skunk. Put sardines in end of trap skunk walks in trips trap door closes he’s locked inside. Box small enough that he can’t lift he’s tail no smell 1 1/2” hole in door so with a flashlight you can make sure it’s not the old lady’s cat then I stand trap on end put a block on door then the garden hose in hole in door 20 min later end of skunk tip trap over water runs out slide garbage bag over end dump skunk in bag no fuss no muss. Disposed of many of them this wayI don't mind killing an animal that is a pest in my yard but killing for fun I'm not gonna do that and haven't for a long time.
Now a skunk that comes in my yard I refuse to shoot for the simple reason it gets revenge and stinks the whole house for a long time. LOL
75* here yesterday, 72 Saturday but only about 48* today. Got almost all of my winterizing done over the weekend.Well guys 70* today and not complaining but that's pretty hot for this time of year.
I got woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of chickens clucking in the chicken pen. Grabbed the shot gun and flash light and under a full moon didn't need the flash light till I got to the chicken pen. Flash light wasn't working real good but by the time I got it working that's all I saw was Skunk tail and *** hole in my face. 2 rounds of 4 shot in desperation killed the skunk 3 chickens and 5 chicks.Built a live trap with the floor as a teeder todder 3/4” plywood box long enough for a skunk. Wounder if winter is going to hit but when it does I bet it will be nasty after all this good weather.75* here yesterday, 72 Saturday but only about 48* today. Got almost all of my winterizing done over the weekend.
Shot a lot of them with my 410. Take a little chunk out of their back. No spray. Friend got nailed hard in the face. Just about killed her. It was in some irrigation pipe she was lifting.I got woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of chickens clucking in the chicken pen. All the windows in the house was open on that hot summer night not far from the skunk spatter and that was the last time I ever shot a skunk.
Never been sprayed by one but the smell at close range sure is bad for a long time. Couldn't imagine being sprayed in the face.Shot a lot of them with my 410. Take a little chunk out of their back.
