You got it wrong Mark It's not the grand kids that are hard to control, there mom and dads keep them in check real good. It's me that gets them going and I am the one that keeps the neighbors up all night.
I raised 8 kids and the last thing I would put up with is unruly kids and my kids do the same.
But now that I am getting senile I can cause all kinds of **** and I love it.
Sounds like you raised your kids right Fred. Our kids knew better than to act up in public. Having a deaf daughter we learned some sign language and all I had to do was stare at them from a distance and sign to them NO and they straightened up. Came in handy and we didn't have to run after them or leave a conversation. Naturally I wouldn't have given anything for my daughter to be hearing but she is a great person (I'm prejudice) and doesn't bother her at all and does very well in the hearing and deaf world even being profoundly deaf. She's turning 44 in August, wow does that make me feel old. Keep up the good work Fred. What a beautiful day today. 13 degrees right now...lovely and a nice break.

I was at the car show at the funeral home last night and my friend Fred came in with his Caddy. Not bagged but on hydraulics. And note the engine: yes it's a 440 six pack auto.
Just got it back from California as it was at the SEMA show.

My hat is off to you Mark.
I bet your daughter is a great person and would be proud of her if she was mine.
Most kids now are unruly and would like to put a few of them over my knee and spank there butt.

That is the nicest Cad I have ever seen Mark. Very well done and would love to have a picture of it hanging on my shop wall.

Thanks Fred. Yeah she's a great person, kind and always willing to help people. She is always helping her deaf friends who don't have a lot of speech. We both worked with her and it has paid off tremendously. We moved from here to Belleville Ontario back in 1980 which is approx 85 miles away from where we lived so she could go to a School for the Deaf. We could have sent here there and live in residence but couldn't do that to her. So we packed up and stayed down there till 1997 when we moved back to Oshawa. She still lives there because as she said all my friends are here. She's married with two boys.

You did the right thing by moving to help support your daughter great job Mark and if I was a little closer would give you a pat on the back but looks like the only thing I can do is atta boy Mark.
Seems like there is some good parents on this forum.

Thanks Fred...it was a long journey but worth every bit of it. You have to give your kids the best opportunities in life and build them up because they will get knocked down in the real world. So much bullying in schools these days. Time to bring back the strap lol. I never got it but came close several times but you sure didn't mouth off to teachers and had respect for our elders or you wouldn't sit down for a week. Thanks for the kind words.

I remember getting my butt beat a few times in school and when I got home I got it again.
And so true Mark we have to stand behind our kids and some times I have to give one a little push now and then but being a parent and grand parent is the best thing in my life.
And my old car of course.

we had a good BBQ but after that one son thought it would be fun to have a shaving cream war and he brought 15 cans of shaving cream.

Sure was fun and don't ask how bad grandpa was because I am slow and got my fare share of shaving cream.
I think the people at the lake thought we were strange, but what the hell had a great time.

I filled my boys back side with shaving cream when I got a chance but they still were one step faster than me.
Yep great time with the kids and gonna go to bed because my *** is dragging but I smell good.

Looks like a lot of fun and laughter. Always fun with the family. We're having our family reunion on the 21st at our son's place. Mt sister and her family are coming so I may have to go and buy some shaving cream or better yet whipped cream. At least we can eat it lol. Great time.
Sounds like fun Mark. Iv'e been trying to do a family reunion for years but it never seems to work for everyone. The whip cream is a better Idea for sure shaving cream is to slippery and tastes bad.

This will be our second reunion. Should have started doing it years ago. My son's is a perfect place as he has lots of room and a large camper to sleep the excess and a large pool as well. We had a great time last year.
