Morning Mark. looks like they built them to last a very long time, not like the new houses.I thought I'd show these two houses to you. This was taken last year when we were in the U.K. We were driving through a small village called Snowshill which is in the Cotswolds area.

Would be nice to visit there some day. They speak much English there? They are a few hundred years old. The thatched roofs look gorgeous and are good for about 25 yrs apparently. We saw some that even had a design in the roof as well. Some really talented people.
Yeah but you might not understand them LOL. In some parts of England like Sheffield even I had problems with the dialect and pronunciations. If you love history the England is the place to go. The countryside is absolutely gorgeous. We think we have old buildings in the U.S and Canada but the houses and castles etc are really really old.Would be nice to visit there some day. Your making it sound better all the time Mark. I love old houses and would like to see a castle and walk through an old town.Yeah but you might not understand them LOL. It isn't cheap but we get to stay with family in most cases but found B&B are really good and great English breakfasts too. Pubs are really good to eat in as well. Driving on the left side is different as well but easy to adjust to or at least I found it to be and shifting gears with your left hand is weird at first but the pedals are the same as ours. Might be something you'd like to do once you've retired. If you decide to I can give you lots of hints where to go and the best way to travel.Your making it sound better all the time Mark. I would imagine the trip over and back plus the motel and food was not cheap.
Could you imagine how hard it would have been to cast that monster.Hey Fred...this is a cannon called Mons Meg. It is at Edinburgh Castle in Scotland. Go onto Google and type in Mons Megs and read the story of it. Amazing cannon.

Did you read that the ball could be shot 2 miles and took all day to move the cannon 3 miles? Can you imagine the recoil when it fired?Nice pictures Mark. It looks so peaceful and would guess quiet.
Just finished checking out Mons Meg on line, 386 lb cannon ball! hell of a projectile.
Over 15' long wow I bet they didn't move that around much.
Yea I did read that part, and would not want to be the one pulling the trigger or even being close to it when it went off.Did you read that the ball could be shot 2 miles and took all day to move the cannon 3 miles? Can you imagine the recoil when it fired?
Probably very carefully LOLYea I did read that part, and would not want to be the one pulling the trigger or even being close to it when it went off.

That's why I live here I have to go 20 miles to a small store to shop and 50 to do the big shopping. And the nearest stop light is 50 miles away.Yea I hate this state... I want land to roam naked. Just waiting for the wife to croak or retire, then I'm out!
