Hey Mark re checked the deck height on the 340 and is pretty even on right bank it's 8 thousandth above deck and the left bank is 4 thousandth below deck. rods all look good so looks like I have to resurface the block.

No scores or ridges on the cylinder walls? Machining is where the costs come in unless you know someone.

Everything looks real good no score marks bearings good, no ridge on the cylinders.
The engine has under 30,000 miles. I will have to take it to a machine shop and have them look at it and I'm sure I will have to bend over cause it won't be cheep.

They'll have to deck it and hone the cylinders so shouldn't be too bad but take the Vaseline and a piece of leather to bite on and take it like a man Fred LOL

Hey John getting ready to start working on the engine bay in the scamp so looks like we are in the same place with our cars. I sure hope you got some good ideas because I am at a stand still with mine.
