My mom always said the Lanc was the plane that saved England. She would have to go into the air raid shelters or subway when they were being bombed in London. She was just a young girl at the time but the memories stayed with her. A terrible way to grow up.
A beautiful plane and nice to see they still have a couple flying today.
My father in law was a tail gunner in a Lanc.
Another great British plane that also saved Great Britain
Oh that was a dangerous job. Many tail gunners never made it back alive. They were a sitting duck. Thanks for his contribution.
Very nice. My dad was in the RAF and mom in the Army. They are both buried in the Veteran section together.
