LATE model Dart love. 73-6

-
Had a red '74 /6 Swinger out of high school. Always liked the pre '72 front better, although I do like the tail lights. What I really like the least about the '73 and up is the "missing" vent windows.

still no reason to hate on a car......I happen to also own a 68 dart and a 70 swinger and I love my "beak" the same as the rest of my "children" :D

I dont hate on any Mopar. But if I decided to, that's my right to do so.

And for the record, there are two cars on this site I really do like that are beak cars. One is Scott's (PettyBlueDart) 73 340 Dart Sport and the other I cannot remember his name. He is a young gun and his car is orange. Very sharp. But as a general rule I don't like the later cars as much......just like I don't like escargot. I ain't eatin snails and if somebody thinks that's "hatin" then to hell with um.

I am so sick and damn tired of people throwin around "hatin on stuff". It's my right and everybody else's to like or dislike whatever we want. Maybe you should not worry about what other people like and like what you like and get over it.

Amen! I get sick of that too. It's like people expect you never to disagree and embrace everything nowadays. this is America and people have freedom voice their opinions and to like or dislike whatever they like. and what is "hating ON something"? Where did that stupid term start? You can hate something but how do you hate "on" it??

I just repeated the ignoramus term from another thread to make a point to someone specific but I agree that it is dumbified modern English. I had another thread and a lovely member stated that he "doesn't hate on any mopar" yet in another thread sure has some strong opinions against these late cars.

again I agree with the idea that it really doesn't matter what people think but of course I start a thread for late model cars and people still have to comment how much they dislike these cars.

didn't their mom's ever tell them that if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say it at all. Why would you go on a thread about something you don't like just to say you don't like it to others who do....that is pretty asshole in my books

moving along.

here is a late build 74 duster. It was found in the brush yet still has very rust free floors. (dry climate) and came with a title.

I need to get some new pics but it now has a rear end and disc brake front end put back and has a complete 74 front end now and it's on it's way back to life :D

A lot of people like to pick on the "Beak" cars and say they are ugly, have they ever looked at the competition of what was on the market that year, a 73- 76 Nova or a 73 and up maverick, talk about ugly, they are a couple of vehicles that you see less of at car shows then mopars. The bumpers looked totally out of place on them, have to thank uncle Sam for that !!!

rainy day , now thats a work in progress, its cool to see the various stages of progress of everybodies cars, lots of future questions and answers, always good to see lots of mopars

Beaks may not be my FAVORITE, but I like em pretty good

They have some of the better stuff, but they weigh a little bit more. However, they are a LOT cheaper than 67-72 cars!

Someday I'll get around to converting my '76 to '73 grille and bumpers, I like the look of the 73 Dart Sports the best.

I like the fact not everybody and their dog has them, unlike say, a plum crazy purple 71 demon...*eye roll* how original.

I wanted a '72 like my dad had when I was a kid, but I was having a hard time finding one that was worth restoring that was within my budget. So I "settled" for a 73 because it shares the rear end with the '72. Picked it up from a member here. "OneWay71" I appreciate having the power disc brakes, power steering and big bolt pattern for my 17" wheels. Thankfully the car being from Ohio via Central Michigan wasn't as bad as anything that I could find close to me. Still needed turning practically every nut and bolt along with rust repair, bodywork and paint, engine, trans etc etc. But that's half the fun.

I personally love 73+ cars, the one that got me into the whole a-body thing was a 74 Dart Custom a buddy had back in High School (the first couple pics). The Dart Sport turned into a 71/75 Dart/demon. The last picture is a 75 Dart I've slowly been working on the last couple months.

Id take a 73 dart with a 72 front clip. They arent bad cars, just the nose though.

Chrysler loved to recycle stampings though. The 73-76 dart hood is a 69 barracuda hood. Prob the reason for the beak.

Anybody who has one though, id recommend removing the bumpers, and getting rid of the 200 lbs of steel I beam behind them, then put the bumpers back on with lighter bumper brackets.

I pulled a set of these off a 74 dart parts car almost dropped a ball trying to pick them up.

Face it Rani,
Some people just have beak envy.
They have a small beak.
Snicker. (Same hood though)

Couldn't agree more. We have the right to like or not like any car but coming into a thread for 73+ cars and then bitching about them is like going to the strip club and seeing a chick with fake boobs and going "You know its better than a *****, but I still prefer real boobs." If you don't like them don't go to a thread for them and just troll. Go look at another thread. :poke::poke::poke::poke:
