I am looking for a little help on choosing leaf springs. I have a spring shop here in town but I have to tell them what I want. I would like to hear from other A-body owners that have been down this path.
I am working with a 1970 Dart / 6, and the rear leaf springs are dead. The prior owner lowered the front of the car to level it out with the back and now its low rider. Well, not really a low rider but its too low for me.
It will get a V-8/mini tubs/offset leaf spring conversion in the future but for now I would like to give it a little bit of muscle car rake and lift the front back up where it should be. Im not looking for a lot of rake but a little bit more than stock after the springs settle.
Spring capacity is a given but how is the spring rate measured? Is it the higher the spring rates the harsher ride it gives?
1964 - 1976 Dart, Valiant / 1964 - 1969 Barracuda rear leaf spring with 2-1/2" lift using 5/8" front eye bolt, (6 leaf)
Spring Capacity = 640
Spring Rate = 120
Amount of Lift = 2-1/2"
Measures (A/B) = 35 x 20

Rear Eye Uses HB891 (2 required per eye - order 4 for a pair of springs or 8 for spring and frame bushings) or V-100 shackle kit (1 per side)
