I have a 318 distributor that came with my Mirada. I don't know if it's a Lean Burn one or how to tell (but the car did have Lean Burn originally, so it could be). If you end up not being able to find another one, let me know what the part # is, or how to tell if it's a LB one, and I can check for you.

LB distributor will have two pick up coils and two wire connectors instead of one.

The lean burn dist won't have a vac advance unit and some only have one pickup. I'm not concerned about how many pickups it has, only the lack of vac advance. The lean burn has no mechanical advance also.
If you have one what do you want for it?

i have a single pick up one i will sell for 25$
If you take a lean burn distributor and combine it with a performance electronic you make a mechanical advance electronic.
You would put the lean burn fixed pick-up plate and the cover plate used to cover the Vacuum advance access hole. This also has the tab for the cap.
You will now have a mechanical advance distributor without the vacuum advance hanging on the side. It will look like it came that way and gets rid of the clutter of the advance. The motor pictured below has one installed

Thanks for all the responses, I have a purchase pending right now. This is going with my TBI Injection w/computer controlled ignition. The lean Burn Dist has no advance at all, mech or vac.
the advance is controlled by the computer programming which I change as needed and re flash the chip.
So far I like it. Easy starts and very smooth. I have a lean burn dist in the car now but the housing is broken where one of the cap clips is held in. This new one is going to get a full polish to match my MT valve covers.

.............its very easy to change the shaft into another housing.....can u not use a hall effect didt from a factory tbi system....kim........

I could transfer the shaft into another housing but would have to make a cover plate for the hole left by the vac advance.
The LB dist has no hole and looks better.
What year distributor did you get without the cover plate? It would be great to find one like that. In the past every lean burn I had. Did have the cover plate over the hole. The cover plate has the tab that locates the cap. The vacuum cover plate can be seen on the pic above of the distributor in the motor. .

. I believe we used a dist. From a 87 Ram for our street stock that does not have the cover plate. This is not a lean burn system but a early computer system.
