This is not an easy post to make.
For those who don't know who I am, not that it matters much, my name is Dana Price. I'm one of the long time Core members of the 67-69 Barracuda owners group from the start of the BOG.
Many of us know or have known Leanna Lynn Johnson for a short time, heard of her via Phoenix Specialties Coatings or like myself have known her for a long time. Me, 1985 was when we first met.
It's with a very heavy heart that I must make this post. Our dear and loved friend / partner has fallen very ill and is being delivered into our lords arms at any moment.
She has been fighting for awhile now and it's now out of our hands. She has bravely fought Cancer which has taken this lovely soul, friend, supporter, care giver, artist partner in crime and a long list of many other things from us. I'm making this post here so that everyone who needs to know, can at the very least know the facts straight from the horses mouth. I would ask that those who wish to send condolences to please not call her shop, or contact via email or really another method at this point so as to retain some level of security, privacy during these upcoming difficult times for the family.
I know there are currently several jobs in the shop but at this time do not know who's they are. That will be sorted out as soon as possible.
Do know that her Daughter Mallory Nettleton and Billy Lee are dealing with this in private or as much as possible as I'm sure you can imagine. Both are dealing with what needs to be done at this moment. So please keep them in your prayers for the future and that they are guided through these times to come.
I know we all will deeply miss her. As a long time figure here, in person and life. For those who have been lucky to know her for a long time this will be a deep loss. I myself have no illusions of filling that gap in my life but will forever be thankful for the nearly 39 years since we 1st met. She has brought many smiles and joy to anyone she knew and great pride in many peoples cars and projects of many forms. She has also helped many through fund raisers for those who got hit blind sided. She herself after Hurricane Katrina. And she was there holding the reins when I myself had the world come down. She took the reins many times to raise funds for those in need and always did it with a smile and purpose. She understood that good people need help once and awhile. And she was always the 1st person to step forward. It's just the way she is. God bless her.
As I understand it there are some parts from a raffle there but right now, not sure of where the raffle was held, or the winner yet. So please understand that situation.
So as we are so near to Thanksgiving, let us all be thankful that we were blessed to have and know Leanna. She is and has always been a true diamond that can not be replaced, but remembered with great love and respect.
There will be things that need to be handled as I'm sure we all understand. At this time I do not know if there will be a service or something else. But can update should something materialize.
But again, please as much as we all want to, please let the family recover and be in peace for now. Her accounts are not being monitored nor texts and such.
I know this is a real shot in the arm for all of us. But I can also tell you that she was never fond of a pity party in any form. Hence why it's all going down as it is. She never wanted people to feel sorry for her, she just wanted everyone to be happy and enjoy life. So lets honor her in doing just that. Our very best to enjoy life and be thankful for friends, family, loved ones, pets, and yes, cats too I guess. ( I had to say that for her)
Feel free to post on this post fun stories, memories, thoughts and such.
And to Leanna Lynn Johnson who may read this from upstairs, thank you for being a friend, soulmate and was always there 24/7. I'm thankful and blessed to walk with you during this time and all time. You are missed and loved. God Speed Red, and Look for Amberdog, I've told her to expect you. She will show you where to go to be with your loved ones. She will stay with you of course until it's time to meet me at our tree.
I love you and miss you.

Thanks Dana. Although we've never met, Leanna has been a friend for almost 20 years. She will be sorely missed.

D-Money, my deepest heartfelt condolences. Leanna is one of those people that truly touched the lives of everybody that was fortunate enough to have met her. May her memory be a blessing.

Omg, jyd, long time buddy!
Yes, this news is not good. I know people on this forum don't know me well like the 1st response up there. But I know she posted here often of course. But I assure you my post is sadly factual.
As you know her and I were close and talked all the time. Hence why I'm trying to get the word out to lessen the burden and to those that family don't know

Ya know, NO REGRETS is a great slogan. I'm sure Leanna lived that life.

I DIDNT KNOW HER ,BUT i HATE THIS FOR HER AND HER FAMILY !!!

Dana, thanks for posting this. It was a gut-punch when I heard. It's been a little while since I talked with her, but she always remembered I wasn't far from Hershey, PA. When I sent two pair of 273 Commando valve covers to her for restoring we included some of her favorite Hershey's syrup. She would mention it whenever we reconnected. One set of those covers is on my Valiant, the other set will be going on my fastback when the engine goes back in later this winter. R.I.P Cudachick. Hopefully she's catching up with Special K, Daty, and E now.

Yeah dude. I enjoyed sending her some of that stuff here and there. Sure made her smile..lol
I'm gonna miss her greatly. Not sure it's hit yet.

And she loved cats...
That's one reason she and I hit it off so well. Both redheads and we both just LOVE cats. Not to mention my wife's name is Kitty and she's a redhead and loves cats. Leanna was the type person to feel a special bond with pretty quickly. It's like Dana said. I don't think it's really hit home yet.
