I've played guitar since middle school and about 3 years ago discovered this "game".

http://rocksmith.ubi.com/rocksmith/en-US/home/index.aspx

In the first year of playing I learned more about being a good guitar player, instead of just a guy who can play a few songs, than I did playing on my own for 10 years. The guitarcade makes learning scales, chords, etc fun instead of monotonous like back when I was originally learning. Last year I decided to download the bass expansion pack and basically started from scratch to learn every song I knew on guitar. Yes, it has a guitar hero feel, and you need to practice just like learning to read sheet music, but you learn the real song, as played by the recording artist, instead of some junk tab some 14 year old who's been playing for 3 months came up with.

They're advertising the new version, but you can buy it used for $30 in my area at Gamestop. Not sure if you have a gaming console, but it is also available for PC.

Btw, if you look at the song list don't be discouraged. They're not showing it but there are hundreds of songs available to play.

I'm going to go with Roy Wood.
