Back in the 70's I ran autocross one day at the Salinas Airport in my four-speed '65 bracket racer. A bystander told me I needed wider front tires, being the fact he observed the 15 inch VW beetle tires were in one place, while the rims were in another place on the turns. I came in last place and never returned.

This is my friends car in progress of building it. It will not be dedicated auto crosser, but it will be highly capable handler as well as a quick car. It has a "warmed up 340" & a Tremec 5 speed trans. It will also be street legal too.

Not many people taking photos back then. The only reason I have a few from that Ft Dix event was a friend came along and took some photos for me. Then of course I had to scan the prints to share on-line. Maybe you'll come across some prints in a shoebox or stuck in a notebook.
