For us, I find they are never big enough

28' x 40' trying to stuff a 30' long truck in a half full shop

built work benches down both sides, still running out of room

But, we wouldn't trade it for anything else
Lots of fun times in the shop

Really love my new garage and house. Moved to Newark DE from s.e. PA to escape from the ridiculous taxes. Old garage was 24x24 this one is 28x30 and has a big loft.

You can sort of see mine here. 24 x 24, enough room to have 2 cars with a few work benches, tool box, press, parts cleaner, sand blaster, and parts storage. There's a big side door to get into the attic which is boarded, more parts storage. I'm going to be pouring a pad to the left of the shop big enough to do engine swaps, etc. And I'll be extending the shop on the back wall (the wall the cars are facing) to have a woodstove, couch, etc.
