at 1 time somebody was making a bracket that ran from the dash vent and the tac
never touched the dash it was cool cant find it anywhere

Not very pretty, but effective. Big hose clamp.

Mounted at the last screw on the top of the cluster plastic and ran the wires thru the ashtray.

hey if u wrap the hose clamp in heat shrink it wont scratch the paint on the colum just letting u know

Thanks; good info. I'll keep that in mind if I don't build a custom instrument panel for the Barracuda.

Now I like that. But does the tach bounce all over? doesnt look like it would be very stable on the very end sorta like a diving board?

Nope, it does not budge and it's tight against the dash.
It is actually contoured from the metal dash and steps up over the dash pad.

I have a very thin rubber disk under the tach bracket to give it more of a buffer which pushes the bracket up very slightly but snug.

It does not bounce or vibrate at all...ever.

I mounted mine using the same screw used to mount a pillar trim. Flattened the mount that would make it mount on top of the steering column.
In the middle of fixin the dash wiring now.

Don't know if you can see it to well. Made a 3 in. wide sheet metal bracket
to go around the dash pad. There was a screw hole in the dash from a tach
pryer to my buying the car. Bent it around the pad. painted it with spray on
bed liner. Looks as good as the high priced ones.

I hung mine off the column. It took me a bit of head scratching to figure out how to make it work with an auto column. I ran the hose clamp over the gear indicator and put the curved mounting bracket on the corner of the gear indicator thing. It's not pretty but it gets the job done and only blocks 0-20 mph. not like you need to see that anyway.

Heres mine. Just a "few" mods to make it work lol
