I love the bumper mods. The lights in the bumper looks awesome. Your valiant is going to turn out so much nicer than mine. I can't wait to get back to work on mine after I find a house to buy.

Haha... Figures that the last 10 posts have been over a matter of years for this thread and the car has really not gotten anywhere!
I can finally say it is!!! It shopuld be in color in the next two weeks. Body work is being completed as I write this and it should be in spray-poly and blocked out by the weekend. It looks like itll be in color next week!

Looks great! I love subtle mild modifications, on muscle car era projects. The dark grey,is a good color choice. Help's the mild custom bodywork blend ,without notice. Watching unknowing onlooker's scratch their heads,is an extra bonus.

This project is really cool. I also paid about the same for my Duster but she was in a hundred pieces.

So here she is! After years of waiting and funds drying up, I finally have her painted. These pics are after color sanding and buffing.
I get to pick it up Next Saturday.

All work completed by David Rosengart of Psychobilly Customs, in Hagerstown Md.
He has been excellent in customer service, keeping me well aware of any progress as well as contacting me regarding how I would like the details that have come up here and there.
I highly recommend him.

Looks really cool. Love the choice of coulor.

My 0.02 though. I think your car would look even better if you paint the back beezels body coulor instead of black.

Thanks. Yeah I have another set I plan to play with. I have yet to get the car back and get all the details finished. We shall see.....they may end up chrome or body color, or maybe even stay black! :) I have to get all the trim onnit and see.

Haha I also bought an A body in high school, then joined the military. Now I'm in Bahrain buying parts on the internet like crazy and sending them home to Kansas.

So, now that I have this thing back and plan to drive the wheels off the B$%CH, Ill try to get this thread back on track.

Current drive train and engine:
Stock internals 360 (bore and everything) Aside from the mild cam.
Stock 318 heads
SP2P Edlebrock manifold
1405 Manual choke 600cfm carb
K&N 4" x 14" air filter
Headers
2-1/2" exhaust with "H" pipe, and knock off mufflers
"Chrome ignition box"
Stock 904 trans
8-3/4 rear: Open 3:55 gears.
Manual Drum brakes all 4 corners
14" Cragar SS wheels (powder coated black)

Planned drive train changes:

360 "J-heads"
New intake manifold (dual plane)
2" Phenolic carb spacer (to get the air filter a bit more into the hood scoop)
K&N fiter lid.
Clean up the hack job igniton wiring
GM ignition module swap (possibly)
Electric fuel pump
Electric Fan
Higher amp Alternator

Sorting out possible suspension / brake / bolt pattern upgrades.

My plan up until recently has been to swap in all the 73 and up front end parts, and a Ford 8.8 rear with limited slip and disc brakes.

I recently installed a C4 Corvette engine cradle assembly with all suspension and steering into a 53 Chevy truck frame and it was unbelievably easy. With that said I already have a lead on another DIRT cheap C4 assembly... Time and research will tell what happens there! Hahaha

Interior:
New carpet
Headliner is in fair shape with little wear, but it is DRY and fragile.
Front bucket seats are from a 1993 Pontiac LeMans :p (not sure that they will stay)
Rear seat: original and ripped in multiple places.
Bought some decent seat covers for all pcs to get me by for now..

So the over all goal with this car...........

To build a car I can drive the hell out of. I want to work out the bugs and not be afraid to drive it at least across the state to a show, or possibly a few states in order to attend Carlisle next year.

A tight suspension for possible auto X events.

Basically..... A VERY solid daily driver / fun weekend track car.

Wish me luck guys! Here we go again! LOL:cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers:
