I'd be more worried about the roo's then the mileage out there. Looks like a nice stretch of road, is that out near Lake Grace?
Gear vendor units are nice, but hideously expensive. The 518 doesn't require NEARLY the fabrication people think, so to me it's the only way to go if you want that overdrive gear in an automatic.

I bought mine for my 489 case from West Coast Differentials. They are made by Sierra Gear.Does anyone know who makes a 3.73 rear gear for an 489 case? they seem to be an ultra rare ratio

Understand that! If I really had to do any modification on one of these cars again though ,I would install a 5spd.. It totally transforms the car.
