Not too sure where to stick this, so i'll post in general too...

Well i've got a '69 dart. It has a locking gas cap. It has a quarter full gas tank. I don't have the key... Anybody got any ideas? I don't care how mangled that cap becomes cause i have a regular one i want to replace it with. I just want it OFF! So far the most destructive way to get it off sounds most appealing cause it has frustrated me... help?

If you were close I could have picked it for you. I have a Snap On pick set that included one for gas caps. I used it on a couple of cars and it works really well.

I been there, had a spare set of keys-without my gas cap key on the other side of town with hardly any gas

What I did was pound a screwdriver in the key hole, then used vise-grips to turn the screwdriver. It unlocked it, just like the key, ha ha
