long tube cross ram info

Short and Long are the SAME physical size. What makes them narrower is that they are on an RB instead of a B block.

incorrect,, there are long and short,, r and rb is deck height has nothing to do with length,,search a chrysler with a 413 you will see the longer length

i guy did that in a magazine i was reading a little while ago. it kind of doesnt make sense to do it cause the injectors are down at the heads, so the air isnt really getting mixed with the fuel at the beginning. seems pointless to me to do it on that style intake.

you would have the throtle body on the top where the carbs would of been it would look intresting,,,

Wrong again. The "shorts" were only available on the 413 (1960 400hp, all four speeds, 8 cars built; 1962 405hp; 63 all 300-J; optional 64 300-K). The "longs" were standard on the 1960 300-F and the only intake available on the 1961 300-G. The "longs" with the SAME casting number were available on "B" motors in Dodges and Plymouths (possibly DeSoto, too). They are the SAME PHYSICAL LENGTH.

BUT, when installed on an "RB" the overall width of the package is narrower since the head is farther to the other side of the car, effectively moving the entire ram to that side.

im not getting in to an argurment,,, u orignaly attacked my comment saying there were no difference in length,,

no ur saying only 4 cars built,,, it wasnt intended to start an arguement,,, now read this,,, NONE OF US KNOW IT ALLL,,,, encluding galen,,

fstfish, it is not atacking a statement by claiming it is wrong. You don't want to get into an argument yet you continue to infer that I don't know what I'm talking about.

It's NOT four cars built, it was eight in 1960 (seven hardtops for Daytona Speed Weeks and one convertible specially built for a wealthy customer by Chrysler - ALL eight had four speeds). Read the whole post. The fact is that both the "short" and "long" are the same physical size.
