Saw it for sale in the local Buy Sell and Trade, drove out to look at it. The guy mentioned that he paid $4,000 for it, 4 years ago, and the only thing he had done to it was redid all 4 drum brakes. He was an older guy, probably 70, who didn't seem to know anything about the car. So.. I asked what he is looking to get for it now, he says 'I want 15' .. so I'm thinking 'Wow, $1,500, that's not bad' .. then he says 'Yep, $15,000'. Whaaa??? I realize its a bucket console car, with those 1 year 1 model door panels, and that its a 70GT, with hardly and rust.. but its a /6 car, that is starting to show wear. The front windsheild is cracked all the way across, there is rust in the quarters, front fenders, under the doors, and in the inner fenders, and the drivers side has quite a few dings and dents, and the passenger side is starting to bubble. The /6 was old and tired. And.. he almost quadrupled the price within 4 years??
Don't get me wrong, it's a nice car! But am I the only one confused on this? I just can't justify multiplying the price by 4, only 4 years later, without having done any work to it.

If anyone wants his contact info, PM me.

for 15k I would expect it to be a decent 340 4spd (no rust) car or a 360 with a very very nice paint job, and lots of other things like LBP and disks.

WOW!!
That is a pipe dream. TOO much Barrett-Jackson there!
And you will find noone thats loves Slant Six 1970 Dart GT's more than me!
Maybe I better take the one for sale in my back yard off the market for $2500.00 OBO?

I would say his is a nice $3-4000.00 driver in need of body work soon!

Hmm.... Did you get a pic of the Fender Tag 70DartMike?

Glad I'm not crazy thinking WTF!!

At least the old guy likes his tunes. Look at that setup in the trunk. Really, I don't know any 70 year old Mopar guy that likes all that stereo stuff.

Thats what I was thinking wtf with that?? RED SOVINE JUST CRAAANNNKED!!! He looks pretty happy leanin' on his lawn mower too, he was probably happy to just have company! Greedy greedy greedy ....tell him youll wait till he passes away and buy it at the estate auction for $500.:evil4:

$15k? He's insane. You know that original price you thought it was? That's what I paid for my EL5 '71 GT. And its a 318 car.

Its a nice looking car, but as mentioned, its going to need some work. I'm with 4spd, keep his contact info and wait for the estate sale. (yeah, yeah, I know, I'm a cold hearted bastard).
