Here's an email from him when I asked him for his user name and phone number and when you read it the is no user name or phone number so I emailed him and told him that I will not send any money until I get his user name and phone number and I haven't heard back from him yet.

Here's the email well one of them

I do understand your concern and I also would be careful when buying
any item sight unseen, but i'm just a retired God-fearing man of over
65yrs of age
and I have been honest and sincere in all my financial
dealings and life endeavors. I will never rip-off your hard earned
money
as I work hard for every penny I earn.

I would have loved to take PayPal but my PayPal account is currently
dormant.
You have nothing to worry about as Money gram is very strict
and very secure.
I would need to tender a recently paid utility bill
and a valid id card both bearing my home address so payments can be
traced if anything goes wrong.

thanks,

Gary.

All red flags in red...

And before the holy rollers get started. The dirty nastiest POS I ever dealt with in my life was a "god fearing christian preacher"... would screw his mother over for $5 and think sunday cleaned his soul. Public persona was nice as could be, incredibly nasty SOB behind closed doors. Anybody that uses that line on me goes straight to Defcon 1 and warning flags go up.

Anybody tries to sell me on what a great person they when engaging me in a long distance purchase... I RUN!!!

last scammer I dealt with,,, I told him I would reciprocate the good deal he wanted to give me.....

I had a small piece of real estate I will give him for FREE. just show up. he didn't respond. HUH?

How many scams have to be pulled off before people learn not to buy what they can't see and touch, and not to pay for anything you done HAVE.

This all seems pretty silly to me.

I buy a lot of stuff on here, no issues. Just have to be careful about the type of person that contacted him.

Sending a Moneygram because PayPal account is dormant is a red flag the size of China.

+On another site that I frequent, there is a thread that was started back in 2010 regarding a custom bass builder, who has still delivered nothing. The original poster was waiting about 3 years when he started the thread. The thread was closed in Sept. 2014, and nothing had been resolved.

I buy on line, too, but, if the seller isn't traceable, no deal. I buy nothing from private sellers, anymore. Far, far too many phonies. It must be a store, they must have a Federal ID number, and they must supply proof of shipping with the tracking information on line.

The last on line purchase I made was a Rickenbacker 2030 Hamburg Bass. It was from a music store in Colorado. Even then, I contacted them by email, and then by phone, I told them that I would used my Amex card, as Amex backs it's uses 100%. If you do not receive the product within the time frame specified in your email or telephone conversation Amex will stop payment immediately, until you notify them of the delivery. It works, I've done it, and or the seller can show them proof of delivery, at which point they will contact you for verification. It's better than Paypal.

If it is Mr.gArry your referring to, I deleted him and all his pms 4 days ago.

Gary Garcia stopped emailing me when I asked him for his username so I sent him this email , it was really bothering me that I deleted his pm and couldn't remember his username and I wanted to make sure that this wasen't someone else on here ripping people off.

This is the email I sent him.
Gary I have sent you the money and you will need the password but before I give you that I will need your username on the site you contacted me as soon as you do that I will give you the password

And wouldn't you know he took the bait and sent this email back.

Mike, i do not have time for games. I'm new to the forum, i told you
earlier. my username is Mr.gArry

So he doesn't have time to rip me off lol that a good thing I must be betting under his skin , now I should send him a password just to screw his day up or tell him I work for some internet fraud dept to give him a scare lol

Anyway I feel better knowing who it was and next time this will play out a lot different this is a first for me and I have purchased a lot of item's on the internet from people I don't know and it's always been good so there are a lot of good people out there just gotta watch out for the few .

Mike

Good one Mike! You should go ahead and have a little fun with this, now that you know where he stands. Just string him along some more, make up new excuses, etc.

And for anyone else that gets told by the seller that their PayPal account went "dormant" run the other way.

Yeah, I'd string him along a little bit too. Then when he's pissed, I'd send him a link to this thread and maybe he'll quit this stuff of FABO.

I have no problems buying things from active members here. I sent a member $400 last summer but not until I checked him out and made sure that there weren't any threads trashing him. Everything went smooth as silk.

I got burned for $1200 a while back for engine parts. All I can say is THANK YOU PAYPAL. Took about six weeks but I got every dime back.
