As the title says, I am looking for someone who has removed the mopar gauge cluster and has installed something different,

I am looking to find out what the color wire is each for left/right blinker, high beams, console lights, courtesy light, etc and how to actually wire up the new furnace.

Thanks
ian.

Ian you've got the shop manual, the info is right there

Page 14-12 look up "instruments" see example "fuel gauge" is mapping 16C, temp is 15C

Now find those in the diagrams............

and they are on page 14-17. Notice that BOTH go through connector no CI-10

temp is wire G2--20V which means wire no. G2, it's a no. 20 gauge, and Violet

fuel is wire G4--20DBL which is wire no G4, it's also a no 20 gauge, and Dark BLue

Now find connector no. CI-10

(which I don't believe you sent me?)

Only ones I have is '74 and '76 and they are different. This is a round connector and the diagram will show all the wire colors and numbers going to the panel harness connector

As I mentioned, I am using all aftermarket gauges ..I suspect they have their own wiring except for the fuel so that isn't an issue.

I haven't found a wiring diagram for the light switch...unless it under something else..

And I also need to know how to wire them...the manual is less than useless for that..

I must be missing something very large here..

I've simply reused the lightswitch on my dash. Same with the wiper-switch. Didn't want to make things harder then necessary.
Haven't connected the blinkerlights yet but those are very easy to find/test in the roundplug behind the dash.

This would also be a good time to put your headlights behind a relay.

Ian, LOL, you've got to sit down and learn to use those diagrams

Look in the index, pages 14-12, 14-3, "Headlight switch" is 26C

Go to 26C, and there it is

Notice that the wiring is all labeled "CI--35" which again, is the connector

L1--12BK is main headlight power coming into the switch, "B1" or "Battery 1"

L8-18P is tail/ park/ dash lamp power coming in from the tail fuse, "B2" or "Battery 2"

D---bottom left is the switch ground for the dome lights when you twist the dimmer knob to the left

H-- the light green is headlight power going out to the dimmer switch

R--originally meant "Rear" or tail lights. This now feeds both park and tail lights

Far bottom right, E1-20T (tan) is dimmer controlled dash lamp power. This goes to the fuse panel, through the instrument fuse, and then turns to orange and feeds out to all dimmer controlled dash lamps

Rather than that...would this be a good time to move them to HID because it takes a lot less power ?

didn't realize that the harness was unable to cope with the headlights..rate now, we are running H4s.

Ian, LOL, you've got to sit down and learn to use those diagrams

I need to take another look under the dash.

I don't know how to say it any differently...what you see as organized logic in a wiring diagram, my brain sees mass chaos and absolutely no logic...that is why I keep asking for help. If I could "learn" it, I probably would have by now since for the rest of the car, I have been essentially doing so... especially since it has become so critical to get the car up and running.

So for the dome light, i tap into the yellow ? and for all the gauge lights, i tap into the E1-20T (tan) ?.

No, yellow in the dome light circuit is the switch to ground. So I'm sure THAT is something to think about.

The dome lights get power all the time, "hot." The dome lights are NOT grounded. Look at one. They have two terminals, both insulated. All the switches, the doors, and the headlight switch, which turn on the dome lights go to GROUND when activated.

So the circuit path is battery ----- fuse panel (fuse) -- power to light(s)-- yellow coming off second lamp(s) terminal -- branches off and goes to all door switches and to headlight "dome" switch.

Now the gauge lights. No not the tan. This is another "trick"

The headlight switch GETS power from two sources. The big black no 12 going to "b1" ONLY runs the headlights, nothing else

Everything else, the tail, the park, and dash, gets power from "B2" which comes from the tail light fuse

This power feeds TO the dimmer control, comes OUT of the dimmer control on the tan, and (here's the trick)

This tan feeds dimmer controlled power TO the instrument fuse. This power goes THROUGH the fuse, and on the other side of it changes to ORANGE. These orange wires then feed off to all the dash lamps. You should already have an orange which would have gone to the round cluster connector.

67dartt...

Oops..

I have contacted a guy to teach me how to read the diagrams. Small steps first.

Let me see if I can figure this out...I shall be back...
