Check out a buddy of mine's Pro Mod Car, Enjoy! This is from the recent US Nationals.
Fun with a capital "F". Very, very cool! How much compression and boost does he run with methanol?
I personally don't know, but I would guess that he's somewhere around 11.5:1 and more than likely 30% or a bit more on the blower. The reason that it not higher is because he's using a set back blower and they make boost at idle, so the overdrive doesn't need to be as great of %.
Look !! his name is Joe  so ya know he is fast 8)
nice moPar for sure thank you for sharing BJR, anther picture for my Mopar collection :-D
I figure that they finally got their valvebodies sorted out. I bought one in the early '90's and had lots of trouble with it and when I ask for advice on how to fix it, all I got was shoulder shrugs. Looks like they've made some money, so I'm assuming they did get'em fixed!
How does one support such an expensive habit?
Well I can't tell you exactly how he made his money, but I have a clue. He worked for DSR for a number of years when Melanie Troxel was driving the EXIDE T/F car as a clutch specialist, then he did the port work on the MOPAR P/S engines when DSR owned the cars of Jegs, Richie Stevens, when BOB Glidden was crew chief. He spent many hours at Bobs shop in Whiteland, Ind., which is across town from him in Indy. He helped with port shape and design at ICH some to with Ken Lazarie (sp) I think. I know that his son was the clutch specialist on the car of Richie Stevens for a few years until DSR sold the teams. Joe jr. now is the clutch specialist for Fast Jack Beckman under Johnny West.
Thats Joe at the drivers door and his son Joe jr. at the back of the car. I can see how they could support there habit as these guys are very talented. And I can say that I'm glad to have known them since 1993 and that we are very good friends.
