I have an opportunity to by a 24,000 mile barracuda. Even with the low miles is it worth restoring or just have fun with it and do it the way i want and modify it. Is it worth anything with the low miles.

For me? Absolutely. But variables are relative to you, your desire for this model, your resources, cost to buy etc. For me, I probably overpaid but it was a driver and what I was looking for at the right time.

Welcome to FABO. Yes, what kind of condition and asking price? Be very careful. Because the odometers only register to 99,999 you can have a 30,000 mile car that's actually 130,000 mile car.

It will need restoring but overall condition is not that bad. The car had been parked for 37years. All the oil change and maintenance paperwork stops at 24000 miles which matches the odometer. It still has the owers manual with the barracuda suplement section.

We need pics.

Was it parked in side, or out side, ??. Makes a difference. I bought a 66 B-Cuda a couple years ago that sat out side since 76, and their was not much on the body that was usable. Wisconsin weather, damp soil, humidity, and eventually sinking into the ground, did a job on it. I bought it for mechanical parts.

It has been inside. From what i was told all the floor boards are solid as is the trunk and spare wheel well. I will get pictures on friday. The price is 2000. He also said there was a placard on the dash that has the name of the person who ordered the car.

JHC, jump on it for that price! Indoor storage since 76? Sounds just like my 'S" I bought 20 years ago.

Sounds too good to be true, so keep that in mind and be careful.

$2000 is a good price even for a low-mileage 6 cyl. If an 8 cyl w/ front disk brakes, it is a great find. Those are not just rare, but interesting historically (1st year of small-block V-8, etc). If a 4 bbl intake manifold and carburetor, i.e. HiPo engine, even greater. It would be fantastic if the interior vinyl was still flexible and intact, but I don't know that would be true even inside in cooler IN, and rodents love to infest cars that sit.

Hp 273 came out in 65 but a solid car of any sort is worth $2000 any day.
