Lower steering column bearing

Is there a easier way to change the lower steering column bearing without taking the whole column apart on a 1972 dart?

Can't you just take the steering coupler off and cross pin?

Yes that what was explained to me to do.Was not sure if that pin would come out. new bearing in now problem solved

U can knock out the cross pin but u need something solid to hold the shaft it takes a pretty good whack to get the pin out and back in
