lying under cars is gonna be a thing of the past

Nice lift! I'm hopin maybe to get one before I'm worm food.

Nice !!! One day!!

you have to learn how to work under a car a different way now.

My uncle owned a repair shop / gas station. Anytime my friends and I talked about him. We said "ya gotta know how ya stand" since he always stood like he was underneath a car on a lift...even when he wasn't!! You know a little sideways...

RIP Uncle Archie (real name). People would move away from town, but bring their cars to him for work because he was such an honest guy!

Built a rotisserie to do my restoration. Did absouletely everything I could before taking it out of the rotisserie. Still there is a ton to do under the car as you go along. Would love to be able to afford a two post but she's all done now and probably won't be doing another resto so we make out with what I have.

I have a 4 post on order, but late because of all the Covid crap. Hope it comes in this month.

I got mine about two years ago - some of the best money I've ever spent! The decision on 2-post vs. 4-post has pro's and con's on both sides. I decided this one would check the most boxes and have the fewest shortcomings.

Another plus would be, instead of walking around the car to get something, you can just walk under it. It also gives you more floor space and you can stack your cars. These are the reasons I looked into it years ago.

I have an arthritic back and shoulder and now in my mid 50's I finally invested in a 4 post hoist now I have the room to put one. Picked it up yesterday and cant wait to install.

I am so looking forward to not lying on the floor and hurting my back, shoulders and knees and make those jobs under the car so much easier. There comes a time in life when you gotta make things easier if you want to continue in this hobby.

Yes, a must. After eighteen years of planning for our new shop the hoist was on the list. We decided to place the posts on 3 foot deep piles with a steel pile cap and J hooks. The hoist posts are welded to that cap. The heated floor was poured around the piles.

Congratulations!! You will not be sorry and what you find to do with it will be the best surprise. I have had my four post for a number of years and yes....there are pros and cons to each. Bottom line is no more crawling under the vehicle. Wait until you polish/wax the lower half of car and/or clean wheels and you are standing up!! I choose a four post as it also lets me lift my tractor and trailers. However...please remember you are below a very heavy load....do not compromise safety.

"However...please remember you are below a very heavy load....do not compromise safety."

I agree 100 %! When I put a car up on my 4 post, I NEVER walk under it until I have walked all the way around it and checked all 4 locks to make sure they engaged. At this point, I'm too old to die from stupidity or laziness. :realcrazy:

Congratulations!

Now get a pair of Race Ramps if don't already have them.
High Density Foam Car Ramps.
Sold the heavy steel ramps that came with my lift in a garage sale.

Each ramp weighs only 9 lbs. 1500 lb. capacity each

Thinking about picking one up after I move. Where did you pick yours up at?

I got a 2 post via CL about 7-8 years ago.... best money I ever spent ON the garage since I initially built the garage. I was so tired of working under a lift at work and having to work off of a floor jack at home. Very few times I wish I had a 4 post, the only reason I would have wanted a 4 post would have been if Id have built the garage bigger, where I would have had room for an alignment machine console in front of the hoist..... I would not be happy if I couldn't lift the axles up from the runways, for most of what I do via a lift, I need the wheels to hang free.
I'm "only" 54, but especially this time of year have trouble getting up off the ground (like off a creeper) I've had a few injuries over the years, that have sped that process up...... shattered kneecap at 22 and a chain saw kickback just above the ankle at 40, both on the right leg....

I got mine from Greg Smith Equipment. They have multiple locations. Mine is an Atlas 8000, the taller version. I really like it but the assembly instructions were criminally horrid.

Who’s kidding who? You need AC anywhere in Florida
Eh, I lived here all my life. Did framing and stucco, and drywall for years, even roofing. It's not that bad.
, I'm getting older, no I don't do production homes anymore. I caint compete w/ our Lil brown friends. So I started a Remodeling/ Handyman service

Details? What brand? How much overhead required, floor minimum thickness, and AC requirements? Am aging out myself and this would be a certain garage upgrade. Thanks

The hoist is a HAPP but I believe they are only Australian. They lift to a total of 6 ft and can lift 4 ton. My enclosed Carport has an internal height of almost 12ft. The concrete has a thickness of 5 inches which would not be enough for a 2 post so the decision of 2 post v 4 post was made for me. They came in 3 phase or 240V and I took the 240v as I dont have 3 phase power. They also have an option of wheels however there would be nowwhere for me to wheel it so I am bolting it down. I am now just waiting for help to bolt together as you can imagine the components are heavy.

Congratulations. I bought a MAXJAX a few years ago. Although it only goes up about 4 feet I found it to be a game changer. I am forced to sit under the car but I haven't found anything I cannot do.

I have a four post lift and have found it to be a definite back and body saver. Wish I had it when I did the 3" exhaust system
on my challenger.

Your garage is nicer than some of my Rat Rod friends living room. I hope my new garage is as nice as yours. Respect sent.

Bought my 4 post 9 years ago. I cant imagine being without one now.
The jack trays work, but nothing like the jack built for the hoist. I built one to accept my bigger bottle jacks until i found a used one that fit my rails. 7 years of daily use. Best investment ever. Could get my money back in a heartbeat.

Bought my 4 post Backyard Buddy back in 1992.
Wife and I were at Spring Carlisle and Backyard Buddy had a demon set up and I kept looking at it and wife came over and asked me "will this help me out" looked at her and said what do you mean will it help you out?

Her response was Stop you from hollaring to get you this tool or that part when you are under the cars and my response was it sure will honey!
Buy the dang thing!
