Thought this would be easy to determine on the ol innerweb, but nooooooo...

Those of you who run Chevy rockers on Magnum type heads...

How long are your rockers studs? I see 1.590 and 1.750 are common, but which one is correct?

Thanks!

Are you asking about the rockers, or the studs? Magnum studs are 5/16 on the head side, and I think Chevy studs are 3/8 or 7/16, so the holes need drilled and tapped. Depending on what kind of heads they are, this can create weak points.

Comp Cams 4542-16 studs is what I'm using (on my EQ magnum heads) which fit the magnum heads no mods needed, using Comp Cams guide plates for the magnum, all with the older red Comp Cams 1.6 alum. roller rockers for a SB Chevy. From all I researched these were the studs needed. The longer ones you mention may be an option for higher lifts, installed spring heights. My lift is only a little over .500" lift, cant recall at what spring height either are good for.

Comp cams 4542, effective length is listed at 1.52 for magnum type heads. Various magnum engine related sites show as being the correct ones needed, so it's easy peasy.
