whats the deal with all these airgap intakes do they have one with a la bolt pattern that has the magnum thermostat set up ?????? I bought this useless crosswind intake that has both patterns but has the old t stat set up so why have the magnum bolt pattern if you can't hook up the belts or mount your comp. can someone give me a link to a la style bolt pattern that has the magnum t stat ???

There is no intake that I know of currently available that has LA bolt pattern and Magnum thermostat housing and bypass hose setup.

The genuine Edelbrock RPM air gap for Magnum is the only one currently available with the Magnum thermostat and bypass hose, but it is only available with Magnum intake bolt pattern.

All of the Chinese air gap copies I have seen with dual LA and Magnum intake bolt pattern have the LA thermostat and bypass hose setup.

If you really want an easy bolt on set up with LA intake pattern and Magnum thermostat and bypass hose setup you will have to find one of the old, out of production, Mopar M1 intake manifolds that were available years ago. These were offered in dual plane configuration (not an air gap design) and single plane version with or without fuel injection bosses. Many configurations available back then.

Thanks, I guess I'll have to make brackets and move the comp I was going to have to do it anyway because I have a tunnel ram for it. I was going to break the motor in with the air gap though but i guess not till next week now damn

The Magnum bolt-hole stands can be milled off (ground if you're good at it) and the intake redrilled for the LA intake pattern. The holes are in virtually the same place, but you'd definitely want a drill press. Hand drilling would be frustrating at best.

yeah hughes used to do it but the last time i called he said he has quit I'll make some brackets to raise the comp enough to let the hose clear and then just get a longer belt. thanx for the advice but I don't have a magnum intake to drill the two useless air gaps I have one is a crosswind that has both patterns but the old stat. This is what gets me the magnum stat housing would have worked on the la motor so why did these !@#$%$# cast it with the old stat. So now I/ would have to buy an eddie int for a magnum and drill the holes. I paid 1500 for those heads to have a la pattern and if it gags linda lovelace it's goin to have a/c lol

Time to use that grey matter in between your ears a little bit.
Figure it out.

Oh I figured it out just fine morons cast these manifolds cause the magnum stat would have worked on the la but not the other way around and when I bought the crosswind manifold back yrs ago they advertised it fit la or mag just forgot to mention that is if you don't care about ac on your magnum or your serpentine belt system and every one of them today still leaves that little bit of info out
