Magnum Kegger Mods

Nice work ,Ed. Should wake it up.

just cutting down that plenum volume should pay dividends. if i can find another manifold and feel like putting the effort i'll try to make a "Airgap" out of it. that area i filled could be cut out on both ends, then the area on either side of the TB holes could be connected to complete the air flow. its kinda hard to explain but i think you'll get it

Before long you will be wanting to do something like this...

Ed have you got your junk runnin yet?

well its all together and running! started right up without a hicup, i expected a little angryness but ran nice and smooth. then spent the next 3 hours flushing out the cooling system before getting it clean enough to put a thermostat in it without it clogging!

so after getting it all cleaned out i now have two leaks in the tranny cooler system!:banghead::banghead:

guess they need a little more flare and should be ready for a vid!

well im reporting back on my kegger mods! it ran great for about 600 miles and then i popped the plenum gasket again! but this is my fault as i stooped out and used 1/8" plate instead of 1/4". i'll just have to pull it apart and make a 1/4" plate, maybe even have a couple water jetted.

What is the shortblock again? I'm surprised it has that much crankcase pressure.

has nothing to do with pressure... its the plate allowing the gasket to walk due to bad clamping force. the 1/4" plate clamps more evenly and keeps the gasket from moving...

No need to fab a plate. That is a very common problem among Dodge truck owners. At least one guy sells a 1/4" alum plate on ebay for $50. For a time, he even sold one with a triangular insert to better direct the air flow, or at least that was the theory. Anyway, that one would be extremely stiff, but $100.
