Magnum mount issue?

Gonna pull the en gine as its easier plus my pan gasket was leaking a lil -my fault as I HATE useing silicone to any degree...-

Hopefully the lifters start to shut up soon too, the thought was the harmon ics being induced into the cam might be causeing issues.

Hi Cory, how was it determined that your motor was externaly balanced??
Just by changing around dampers?
I bought a 70 Duster with a built 340 and many unknowns internaly. I thought all 340 motors were neutral/ internaly balanced with forged cranks.
My motor is a 340 with the internal style balancer on the nose of the crank.
I have some vibration issues and I want to get off on the right foot in regards to solving this problem. ie; type of damper, converter etc.
I have a converter that feels like it is in a out of balance condition, maybe the wrong one, or needs repair?

Well 340's with forged cranks where internally balanced cast cranks which are 72" and 73" I think are not.

I'm runnign a 360 which was supposed to have been internaly balanced at the time of rebuild but due to paperwork errors wasn't. So it had a BAD vibrations with rpm.

I had an aftermarket balancer that had weights swappable for different small block applications so I put the weight in it for an external balance 360 and it got much better so now I need the weighted torque to match.

are you sure that he didn't say zero balance? that is what my machine shop guy calls balancing the rotating assembly, to make everything "neutral". like fishy said, ask if it was internally balanced with mallory metal.

It wasn't balanced at all not neutral or zero or internal It was left as Ma' Mopar made all 360's. They goofed and assumed it was but the engine was for the guys own truck project and he had no intentions of doing any balance on it he offered the short block to me and built to spec from there and everyone assumed it was balanced but it was built for soem time and as things happen in life people forgot etc so it sorta snowballed. Its an hones tmsitake and I get a new Dynamic convertor out of the deal a bit of hassle but hey.

Man I hope they are going to refund what you paid to have it balanced too. They should in addition to supplying the converter. It may be an honest mistake but after all you've sure went through alot of work and it's not done yet. Swapping out that converter is another days work.

I feel for you man.
