Thinking about painting and installing the original valve covers.. I do like the MP covers, but leaning towards the OG's...

Stock in wrinkle black would be my choice.

For what it's worth I run stock painted 67-68 valve covers on my 440's with all the plug wire tabs removed. I like clean and stealthy.

The Mp's look good with that intake. What air cleaner do you have?
I haven't found one yet. Was thinking a plain, round black one..I have a "318 4 Barrel" decal I want to use..

I've got a 340 in my car and, even though I have the originals, I went with direct connection Chrome. Nothing fancy, but something we would have put on the engines back in the 80's......Yours look vintage classy.

I like the Mopar Performance Valve Covers. They look great on your engine.

I like both, but if you decide to use the stock covers, you should paint the intake too. Then it would be kinda stealthy.

Mopar Performance look great on your engine. If you can get the air cleaner it would be even better! 65

Whenever I buy a car the first thing is take that GAWD awful MP valve covers off. Then I save em for when I sell a car because people love the **** out of them. Along with the TA radials.

That's how I do my slant 6 valve covers. I grind the heater hose brackets off the top and smooth it out. Then I run the heater hoses over on the passenger inner fender to uncover that lovely valve cover. lol

That’s how I feel about cragars.

MP performance ones but all wrinkle black. Ignore the air cleaner I’m not a fan of it but I had it lying around and just painted it wrinkle too.

As long as the "carpet matches the drapes" (valve covers & air cleaner, in this instance), I don't see how you could go wrong with either (OEM or aftermarket).

Just don't mix and match, IMO.

Both look good. The stock steel covers do have a history of warping from the bolts, causing leakage. From that stand point, I like the aluminum better. Otherwise, if you do go with the aluminum, need to have the baffles under any opening. Actually had to make a baffle for my oil filler hole on my '72 318 stock covers, the cap kept weeping oil.
If you don't want it to stand out, paint the intake too, stock valve covers and find a stock orange air cleaner.
