Anyone planning to join us on the Scottsdale to Vegas cruise to MATS please take note:
- According to the Arizona Dept. of Transportation, there will be major blasting work along U.S. Highway 93 near Hoover Dam on Thursday, 3/25. This work could delay traffic an additional 2 hours in crossing the dam into Nevada.
- I just spoke to Kelly Painter, who is coordinating the cruise, and he will assess the situation to see if any changes to the cruise route are required. One option would be to avoid Hoover Dam by taking the route to Vegas that goes through Laughlin and Searchlight, Nevada. This route is about 30 additional miles, but avoids Hoover Dam altogether.
- Kelly asked me to notify cruise participants that a route decision will be announced at the lunch gathering to be held during the afternoon at Martin Swanty Dodge in Kingman, Arizona. Kelly will try to gather more information between now and Thursday to see if a change in route is necessary.
