Pic was taken at Beech Bend Drag Strip in Bowling Green, Kentucky
Just found the pic and wanted to share.

We took my brothers Yamaha 350 down to run in the Nationals.
This was before we turned it into a drag bike running on alcohol.

I am on the "Chopper". It belonged to a friend of mine. That is
the corner of my first Corvette. It's a 1961 fuel car. That's my
brother Larry "playing" with the Yamaha.

You looked like trouble.

How old were ya?

This was me in about 72 or so. I was born in '48. That's a corner of my V code 70RR. My all time favorite car. If I could afford it I'd have a whole stable of 'em

Here's a quote from one of the Corvette Forums:

I have a 61 vette that is supposed to be an X big brake car. I did a lot of research on the internet and found out there was only like 240 cars built with that from factory. VERY rare!
The pieces and parts (brake drums, shocks etc) are VERY expensive that I have found and most of them are barely in a useable form. I don't think,(unless you buy a car with that on it), that you will find everything in one place. Hope that helps!

Heavy Duty Brakes and Special Steering (687) - This option was designed to increase brake and steering performance and included the following:

Special front and rear shocks

Air scoops/deflectors for front brakes and air scoops for rear brakes

Metallic brake facings

Finned brake drums with cooling fans

Quick steering adaptor

Required: RPO 354 or RPO 468, and RPO 675

My Corvette had the top of the line 283 with 315 h.p.
It had the heavy duty brakes and steering package.

I bought it for $1800.00 back when and sold it for the
same amount a year or so later. Yep, that car would
be worth a bundle today but it was just a daily driver
back then.
