im trying to fit a 1.25 inch front sway bar in my 71 but im having some problems. i bought it used and was told it was pulled from a 71 dart. so it should fit. but it seems to be short. was wondering if anyone could tell me how wide there front sway bar is from center to center and how wide the sway bar mounts on the lower control arms are from center to center of holes. thanks .

If that bar was pulled from a 71, the 71 had a later model sway bar and the K too probably.
Those sway bar go through opening cut out of the K.
The early sway bar goes around the K instead of through it.
The bar would have triangle shaped forward mounts.
You could cut the openings in your K and thread that bar through to use it.

my sway bar is around 37.5 from eye to eye and my cars sway bar holes are about 41.5 inch . so even if i cut to fit the bar is too short. or my mounts are too far apart.

That bar is for a 73-76 A-body. You have a k-member that will work, but you need the correct lower control arms with the tabs in the proper place. You need LCA's that look like the first pic. You probably have ones like the second pic.

awsome thanks alot for the help. it makes sense now. ill see what i can do for lca i am going to do a bbp disc setup on the car aswell. so i might just get a setup with the neweer arms and solve the problem. thanks again
