Yeah, we had to do a similar mod for my son's k-member (home-built DC). I've got some good video and some stills (I think). We still need to finish it, but there's other priorities right now.

Im tryin hard to do this car right this go around, and the more stuff I try to improve the more work I create! Just wait til I start the 25 gallon boat fuel tank install lol!

So all you had to do on a 68-72 A-body biscuit type K-member with Schumack mounts is cut the side of the idler arm braket back?

How close was it before the cut?

Wonder if its the same situation with a factory 68-72 biscuit K-member.

Mike Mosley had to cut more for his 73-76 type spool Big Block K-member with that pan.

There are clearance problems that will arise when trying to pull the engine out the top with the DC style k-member, requiring more clearancing above the kickouts on the pan. That's why we're not sure if we're done yet.

That's a spool type (73-76-like) based big block K-member correct?

Just to clarify for others, the one 72BBSwinger is using is biscuit type (68-72-type) made with Schmacher conversion mounts.

Steve it was against the idler arm bracket and close to the K forward of it as well. Yes its a 67-72 slant K. It fits best with a 3/16" shim under the D-side bisquit.

Did you just shim one side up ? Is the motor higher now on the drivers side vs. the pass side ?

No it sits level because it is slid up on the pass side. I did that to clear the flaming river steering box with TTIs. Kinda a lesser of 2 evils thing. I may need to shim both sides a little to clear the center link once its in the car.
