mini starter is this the right one?

did i get a good score im hoping this is the right starter for my old la engine for a bolt on upgrade i took pics so u guys could make sure for me, i beleive it was off a magnum v6 or a v8 cant remember . the valiant has one but the aspen sounds kinda spinds longer after the engine is started u can still here it winding down

in the last pic u see that hole the rubber grommet is broken should i smear a Lil sealer over it to keep the elements out what do u guys recommend me doing to this grease anything ? I'm not really in the looking mood for a rebuild on it just have oriely's check it and make sure it spins
 
You can check it yourself with a set of jumper cables.
Hook the hot wire to the large terminal, ground the back of the case.
Jump the wire between the large terminal and the small terminal.
If it turns fast and kickes the drive gear you are good.

I trust nobody at box stores.
 
Snag the heat shields next time you are in the yard- when you run headers they will help the starter live longer...factory put 'em there for that reason
 
looks right, just watch my mini starter needed to have some housing grinded off
 
Just be sure to check the contacts before you use it. They're behind the gold cover in pic#3. If they have noticeable wear, replace them now. Simple job.
