mini starter (v6 +v8)

This winter when I swap the 273 for a 360 I would like to use a mini starter. Is a 3.9 v-6 starter the same as a v-8? Thanks.
 
yep, same thing. I took one off a 93 Dakota 3.9 and put it in my 69 383. 11.5:1 motor and it starts it great.
 
mine on my 340/904 had starter ring clearance problems.... die grinder to the nose cone solved that.... works great
 
Is this the starter that the terminals are very close, if not hitting, the side of the block? At least on a big block?
 
Mine had some kinda adapter bolted to it to make the hot stud higher. I took it off and bolted it to the 383 with no problems.
 
i forgot ive ran into this problem before, but if you have a 727 ive never had a problem
 
I had to split the wires just a little bit where they bolt on to the studs on the starter, but other than that works great.
