mirror glass question

hey all

i went to the "local" you pull it yard the other day and got a pretty nice remote mirror for the scamp, after i got it home i realized it looks like some one broke the origional glass and used double sided tape to put on a new piece.

i have my old mirror and the glass is good but the body isnt so i was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is a way to swap the glass from one to the other.

also i need to swap the control knob that goes inside the car because the one from the yard is rusted to s*^&

I believe the mirror glass is epoxied to the mounting plate but I just go to my local auto glass store and have them cut me a new mirror for a few bucks and epoxy it in place after cleaning up mounting plate ..cost less $10 here

Done it before. I gently warmed the glass with a torch until the adhesive relaxed it's grip. Didn't take a whole lot, really.
